Review of JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1.5 LPA. Hospitals like Apollo, Dayanand Sagar Hospital, and many more visit our college to recruit students. Almost 95% of students got internships in good hospitals. The top role offered is an anesthesia technician.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college and hostel is good. Our college is Wi-Fi enabled. Labs have new technology and good machines. Classrooms are well-maintained. They are equipped with writing boards, projectors, etc. They have enough benches and chairs. Our college has two libraries. A digital library with computers for browsing and reading, and another library with books and adequate space for studying. The hospital has a library. The hostel facilities are good. The food served in the hostel is not good. It should be improved. There is a separate room for medical facilities. There is a large floor dedicated to indoor games and a big ground for outdoor games.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful, highly experienced, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum makes students well-trained in the hospital. They can join some hospitals and can do their respective tasks. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 90%.
Other: It is a challenging course. The best thing about this course is that it provides the chance to observe various surgeries taking place in the operation theatre. Our JSS Hospital functions as a training school, where all staff members, PGs, and students actively participate in all activities. To enhance the course, students should be provided with opportunities to administer drugs or perform tasks such as incubation or extubation of patients. They organise cultural and sports festivals. Our college has greenery, diverse plants, trees, and beautiful flowers. A scholarship facility is available for various categories.

Jss medical college: the pros and cons.
Placements: Medical internship, junior consultancy, residency, senior consultancy and house surgeon is one of the roles offered after this course. 100% of students get placed every year. Most students get offered an internship of INR 40,000 per month, which is fixed for the duration of a year. The residents get paid INR 1 lakh.
Infrastructure: Everything is up to the mark. Although, in my opinion, the food provided at the hostel mess could have been better. We get a medical card, so treatment is free at the JSS hospital. The teaching faculty is well-versed and knowledgeable. They are approachable too.
Faculty: The teachers are know and helpful. They are always willing to help and provide any academic assistance. They teach well, and the classes are interactive and thought-provoking. Classes are regular, and the faculty adheres to the schedule strictly. It's a delight to get taught by them.
Other: I chose this course as I want to be a doctor. We have regular fest in our college and it's a happening college life.

Our college offers excellent practical knowledge development for becoming a good doctor.
Placements: Seniors in our college work in JSS Hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals in the world. Many of them have built their hospitals and are giving placements to others. Many students are practicing as independent clinicians in different parts of the country.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus and hostel. The infrastructure of the campus and hospital is good. The A and B blocks of boys' hostels are particularly good with attached washrooms and kitchens. The internet connectivity is good.
Faculty: Theory classes are for either resting or completing your pending work if possible. Practicals are good enough to help you become a good doctor. A major drawback is the dissection hall where there are more than the required number of students per cadaver. Our teachers are very knowledgeable. Faculty members are good and well-trained.
Other: The college festivals are good. It is an excellent college.

Our college is one of the best MBBS colleges in Mysore.
Placements: Our college provided only internships to its students. There were no placements provided like every other medical college. However, a person from another university could apply for an internship of their choice. There were no placements in MBBS. It was followed by NEET PG, based on which we got different ranks. The monthly stipend was Rs.10,000 per month, which was very low compared to other colleges.
Infrastructure: The campus life was excellent. We had a medical college, a dental college, a JSS cooperative society, a food court, and a huge ground where you could play football, volleyball, cricket, basketball, and a lot more. In the boys' hostel, there are indoor sports such as table tennis, a badminton court, and a chess board. We had a JSSMC fest called Tatvam, which happened in April. The registration process for hostels was not difficult. One had to pay 1.3 LPA, including a submission registration form. We had different blocks, A, B, C, D, and E. E block had a common bathroom, but it was 2 BHK with a proper cupboard, study table, and proper internet connection. A and B blocks had attached bathrooms. The mess food was satisfactory and it was a mixture of both South Indian and North Indian meals, but it was pure vegetarian. Non-vegetarian food was not available.
Faculty: The course curriculum was not easy. We had 19 subjects in 4.5 years and those were not easy, but faculty members were very friendly and supportive in JSS. Most of them were associate professors, HoDs, and senior residents. Their teaching methods were good and satisfactory. They taught us what was important to remember concept-wise and they made difficult topics easy. We had 3 semesters before our final university exam and the question paper was standard so that every student could pass.

B.Sc. in Perfusion Technology - Batch of 2018
4.6

Our college is excellent but it requires more placements.
Placements: In perfusion technology, to be specific, placements were extremely low, not only in JSS but also in any college in India. It was the same situation when the demand was low. The attrition rates were higher than in any other medical field. The university didn't offer placements but if you were good, they would give great recommendations.
Infrastructure: Facilities in JSS were top-notch. Both physical and digital libraries, the smart gallery, the lecture rooms, the 24X7 Wi-Fi, etc., were available. The hostel was fairly good and the hostel food was delicious and healthy. However, perfusion had only one modular cardiac OT for the whole batch, which made the course-related infrastructure inadequate.
Faculty: In very stringent evaluations, exams were difficult to very difficult. Our professors were knowledgeable and experienced in their respective fields. The course curriculum was relevant and covered everything that we needed to excel in our jobs. They used perfusionists for our advanced/clinical perfusion classes, not professors in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. It had both pros and cons.
Other: Mysore has an amazing environment, pristine air, a lot of places nearby to visit, and affordable living spaces.
