Khallikote Autonomous College, Khallikote University B.Sc. Geology 23-26 batch Review.

Placements: The placement scenario is not that good, especially for our geology department. Mostly, students opt for the post in OMC or prepare for government exams. The college does not offer B.Tech courses, so there are no placements. Some MBA students get placed off-campus on their own.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure for academic areas is decent. Classrooms are pretty good. Wi-Fi is not available, but CCTV cameras are there at the main entrance. The laboratory conditions are also good. The mess and canteen food is hygienic but not based on local consumption, and it is totally different for people from coastal areas of Odisha.

Faculty: Faculty members of our department are very qualified and have a high academic reputation. As the city is known as the educational hub of the state, academics are quite rigorous in the college. Semester exams are mostly of medium difficulty level and more than 90% of students pass the exams.

I am moderately satisfied with the campus infrastructure and teaching.

Placements: Here students only get their degree certificate rather than any kind of placements as in geology course. There is no campus occurred and no placements are given.

Infrastructure: As it is a very old campus its buildings are old, and not modern. Some of the buildings are now newly constructed. It has a good library. In our department, the laboratories are excellent with various kinds of rocks and minerals. There are separate hostels for girls and boys and UG and PG.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. But some of them are not good in terms of teaching. Exam patterns are very good and moderately tough. A student may enjoy this campus. Marking schemes are very good. Teachers are very much knowledgeable and very kind-hearted. Some faculty members are best in terms of their qualifications but others are not good at teaching.

Friendly environment. Jst a little bit infrastructure development then its all good.

Placements: Some of my seniors got selected in IIT JAM examination to pursue their master degrees at top IITs of India. Geology provides opportunities to explore places during field tours so it's a good option for those who are wanderlust. There are about 40 seats for B.Sc Geology and every year there us a rush for seats. Almost every student get into a good institution after pursuing their Bachelor's degree.

Infrastructure: Hostel infrastructure of is well and good. But, needs some repair and paint. I am not a hostetler, so don't really have a good idea about hostel facilities. But, as far as I know the hostel is good. Infact a new building has been constructed which is 3 storeyed. Heard from a friend that food is also not bad. Medical facilities are also quick and good. As far as sports is concerned. Annual sports is being organized by the hostel management n annual function is a separate event.

Faculty: Teachers are supportive. You can get cleared with your doubts whenever you want. Regular lab practices are also done which makes you future ready. There are seminars too where intellectuals come from different prestigious institutions or companies and motivate us.

Other: I like to study earth Science hence no option was better than geology for me. I even get scholarship under "medhabruti". The course is pocket friendly hence students belonging to any family background can enroll themselves n if they r eligible for scholarship then it's even better.
