    Commonly asked questions
    On Highlights
Q:   Can I apply for MANET B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc. Nautical Science if I completed my 12th through distance learning?
    A:

No. MANET only accepts candidates who completed their education through regular schooling. Applications for B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc. Nautical Science involving part-time, distance learning, or correspondence courses will not be considered for any of the maritime programs.

Q:   Is there any relaxation in the age limit for MANET B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc. Nautical Science?
    A:

Yes. For MANET BTech courses, SC/ST candidates get a 5-year relaxation, and OBC candidates get 3 years. Female candidates applying for B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc. Nautical Science receive an additional 2-year relaxation to encourage participation.

Q:   Can I apply for MANET B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc. Nautical Science if I completed my 12th through distance learning?
    A:

No, you cannot apply. MANET strictly requires candidates to have completed their Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) through a regular, full-time mode of education. The maritime industry demands rigorous physical and academic preparation that distance or correspondence courses cannot provide. Therefore, any qualification obtained through part-time or distance learning is automatically disqualified for both the B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Sc. Nautical Science programs at the institute.

MANET Pune reports a strong placement track record, with many years reaching nearly 100% for eligible cadets. Top recruiters include Maersk, BW, and MOL. Absolutely satisfied because of the faculty, good placement and excellent teachers.

Infrastructure: The facilities provided in the MANET hostel are good enough, and the food provided is good. For security purposes, it is also excellent. They also encouraged me in sports and other activities. It also helps in placement. And the medical facilities are also excellent.
Faculty: The teachers are very good at everything, like teaching and communication. Also, they take practical steps to understand very easily. The teaching quality is very good, and my personal experience is very good here. Semester exams are good enough. For B.Tech 50% needed in every subject to pass.

Good teaching facilities, equipment, good placement ratio, and qualified teachers
Placements: I, cadet Vishwajeet Phalke, placed in Zodiac Ship Management. In my batch, mostly all cadets are placed, and the remaining ones have backlogs; after clearing them, they will also get the chance. Some top recruiting companies we get a chance in are Zodiac Ship Management, MOLMI, MOLTA, etc.
Infrastructure: We have good facilities like projectors, proper clean and ventilated classrooms, Wi-Fi available in libraries, and proper working equipment in labs like computers, demo practical materials or machines. In the hostel, we have good facilities, good living rooms, rooms are cleaned daily, good quality food, and all medical, sports, and games facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful at clearing doubts until you understand it. They are well-qualified with higher ranks in the shipping field, and they have all practical and theoretical knowledge. It makes students industry-ready. Practicals will be carried out as much as possible to understand the real concepts on ships. We have a 50 percent passing percentage. We get more chances to perform practicals, live demos.

Supportive faculty members and engaging campus life.
Placements: 90 to 95% placement is done for B.Tech Marine Engineering. The highest package is 700$ and the lowest package is 500$, and this course is the best. The companies come for placement like MOL, D'Amico, Molten, Mol Tankers, Chelsea, etc. Also, the environment of college is good.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good and provide good knowledge, the classrooms are also good, and they also give the best practical knowledge. The best thing is that they give their best experience and knowledge to us. The library and labs are very good and peaceful places to study. In the library, there are many books related to ships apart from the course.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and give good knowledge. They give proper knowledge according to the shipping industry. The staff are experienced chief engineers. They guide us and share the experience with us, and give proper knowledge about the ship, and they are very experienced.

Great learning environment. One of the best campus environments.
Placements: I am a synergy placed engine cadet. In synergy, 9 cadets are placed in synergy. Almost 100% students from my batch in 2025 are placed. There are also more companies like Dyna Gas, MOL, etc., which select many cadets from MANET. It is the best experience in this college.
Infrastructure: Clean classrooms, hostel facilities are also good, the mess food is also good, and the university environment is very good. We also have medical insurance cards from Bajaj. Hostel rooms are always neat and clean. All labs are fully air-conditioned. The best campus I have seen. We also have a sports complex in MIT ADT University, where we go daily for PT, and a gym is also available here.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. We understand maximum concepts in the classroom only. The passing percentage is 50% and placement is almost 100%.
Other: I chose this course because I do not want to do 9 to 5 job, e.g., I do not want to do the same routine work in my daily life.

Placement are great if you study hard.
Placements: Placement is 100 percent if you are all clear. Those who don’t get placed, KT is the reason. You should be all clear to get placed because companies need intelligent cadets. So people who say placement in Manet is not good, it is incorrect. Placement is good, students don’t study properly and then they blame college for not getting placed.
Infrastructure: In the hostel, Wi-Fi is provided, infrastructure is good. There are practical workshops that help a lot in learning practicality. Manet is great, Warden's are also good. Every query is solved. Hostel rooms are shared by 3 students in one room. Rooms are quite spacious with personal washrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are great and well-qualified. They help a lot and clear all our doubts. Faculty is great for 1st year; there is non-marine faculty, and after that, chief engineers start teaching subjects, which is quite great and interesting. Everything is great in Manet.
Other: I wanted to do B.Teach in marine engineering because I wanted to join merchant navy.

Yes, there is going to be very strict discipline in your life in MANET Pune because this course prepares you for the merchant navy. It's a residential programme, so cadets stay in the hostel. You'll have to wake up early in the morning for physical exercises. Although this schedule can be very rigid
