Overview

GATE 2026 Date OUT: IIT Guwahati has finally completed GATE exam process. Qualified candidates can now download their GATE scorecard from GOAPS portal. As of now, COAP 2026 registrations are ongoing and CCMT 2026 website has been launched. CCMT 2026 counselling is expected to start soon. While COAP 2026 counselling dates have been announced. 

Interested aspirants who want to participate in the counselling process must download GATE 2026 scorecard and register as soon as possible. The last date to download scorecard for free is May 31. Post that, the scorecard is available till December 31, and candidates can download it by paying a fee of INR 500. The official website is gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

GATE Counselling Dates (Round-Wise)

IIT Guwahati is not responsible for conducting GATE counselling 2026. The counselling for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted by COAP and CCMT that is done by different IITs and IISc on a rotational basis. As per the latest updates-

  • COAP dates have been announced. COAP 2026 registration date is March 27. IIT Roorkee is conducting COAP counselling this year. Common Offer Acceptance Portal is used for admission to IITs and IISc.
  • The CCMT 2026 website will be updated soon. The CCMT counselling is used to provide admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

Q:   When will GATE COAP counselling dates be released?
A: 

GATE 2026 COAP counselling dates can be checked now. The COAP 2026 round 1 counselling starts on May 11. However, the registration begins from March 27 onwards. Candidates who want to apply for IITs must register at COAP. 

Q:   Why is it important to check the GATE 2026 dates?
A: 

Candidates who have applied for GATE 2026 must check event datesheet so they don't miss out on any dates. IIT Guwahati has released GATE 2026 exam dates along with branch-wise schedule at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Q:   When will GATE CCMT counselling start?
A: 

GATE CCMT counselling is expected to start in June/July. Students who have qualified in GATE exam 2026 and want to take admission in NITs and other engineering colleges must register and participate in CCMT. The dates will be updated here for each round.

GATE 2026 Scorecard Release Date

GATE 2026 scorecard is now available for free download from March 27 to May 31, 2026. Later, scorecards will be available for download by paying a fee of INR 500 per test paper from June 1 to December 31, 2026. Only qualified candidates can view and download their scorecards. GATE scorecard is valid for three years from the publication date of results.

GATE 2026 Result Date

The GATE result was announced on March 19. Candidates can check their GATE results 2026 on the GOAPS portal by providing their enrollment ID and password. The authorities will also soon publish the cutoff mark for all branches. Candidates can refer to GATE qualifying exam marks for expected cutoff this year. After GATE result date 2026, the officials will release topper's list.

GATE Answer Key 2026 Release Date

IIT Guwahati released GATE 2026 final answer key aong with response sheet on Feb 22. The answer key challenge was provided to students from Feb 25 to 28. Students had to match their esponses with GATE 2026 answer key and challenge any question for a fee. However, the GATE response sheet was not for challenge.

GATE correction facility was available till November 10, where aspirants were able to edit their personal and other details, such as category, name, educational qualification details, etc. Candidates can access the GATE application form correction window at the GOAPS portal using their enrollment ID and password. The conducting body had activated GOAPS for defect rectification process for provisional candidates. The last date to make changes in the application form was March 15.

A: 

The last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees was October 13. For submission with late fees, the application form window  remained active from October 7 to October 13. The registration fee with late fees is as follows -

  • For female/SC/ST and PwD candidates, the fee is INR 1500
  • For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2500

Yes, but within the timeline mentioned by the GATE authorities. IIT Guwahati has started the registration process for GATE 2026. While CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech/M.Arch/M.Plan) is the counselling portal that offers admission to NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs.

Yes, GATE 2026 application form correction window has started. The last date to edit is November 10 (extended). During the correction facility, candidates will be able to change a few particulars, such as exam city, category, exam centre, etc. This year, there is a hike of INR 100 for gender, category, and PwD change.
