Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences offers a three-year Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)  programme in nine specialisations. Eligible candidates can choose to pursue one of the following MDS specialisations:

Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences admission to MDS is based on NEET MDS score. NEET-qualified candidates must participate in the NEET MDS counselling for seat allocation. 50% of the seats are offered under Delhi State Quota. Remaining 50% of the seats are filled under All India Quota through AIQ counselling. The counselling bodies release merit lists based on the NEET MDS ranks secured by the aspirants. While registering for the counselling, candidates are required to select MAIDS MDS to secure a seat in the institute. Aspirants who have been allotted a seat receive an admission letter. They need to pay the applicable course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

MDS at MAIDS, MAMC is a three-year programme. The maximum duration to complete the programme is five years. The course curriclulm is evenly spread over six semesters and it varies across the available MDS specialisations. It is designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge to students in their preferred specialisations, through lectures, journal clubs, seminars, symposiums and regular postings in hospitals and clinics. The assessment includes theory, practical and clinical examinations, in addition to the viva-voce and pedagogy. 

MAIDS Delhi fees vary for UG and PG courses. For BDS

• NEET UG exam admit card
• NEET UG result
• Matriculation or equivalent certificate showing date of birth
• Certificate of having passed Class 12 Examination along with a statement of marks
• Certificate from the Principal of the School on prescribed proforma
• Character Certificate proforma prescribed by CBSE to be issued by the Principal of the school last attended or from any Gazetted officer

• Physically Handicapped certificate (if applicable)
• Entitlement Certificate for CWWAPP category (if applicable)

For MDS

• Passport-size photograph of the applicant
• Scanned signature of the applicant
• Self-attested copy of High School/ Higher Secondary Certificate for verification of date of birth
• Self-attested copy of the certificate in support of educational qualifications: BDS degree

NEET MDS 2026 exam is expected to be conducted in the third week of April 2026. NBE will announce the exam date in February 2026. The application process will be tentatively conducted from the third week of February to the second week of March 2026. NEET MDS is a computer-based test of three hours duration, scheduled from 2 PM to 5 PM. 

NTA released the re-revised scorecard on July 26, 2024. In this scorecard, the score has been revised as per the Supreme Court verdict of removing the bonus marks awarded earlier for the controversial Physics question, and deducting one mark from those who marked incorrect answer options. The city and centre-wise result data such as number of candidates appeared and scores obtained, by masking candidates' personal data was released on July 21, as per the Supreme Court order given on the hearing dated July 18, 2024. The NEET 2024 result for the re-exam, which was conducted on June 23, was declared on July 1, day day after the slated date. The final answer keys for the NEET 2024 re-exam was released by June 30, ahead of the result declaration. Earlier, the result of NEET 2024 was declared by NTA on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the original schedule, which was June 14, 2024. NTA released the final NEET answer keys on June 4, prior to the release of the NEET result 2024. The NEET result was declared in an online mode. Candidates have to log in with their registration credentials or application number and date of birth, and download their scorecard in PDF format. NTA also released the merit list containing the name, Roll Number, All India Rank and Percentile of the candidates. Along with the NEET 2024 scorecard, NTA also released the NEET 2024 cutoff marks or the qualifying marks/scores. 

Oral Pathology & Oral Microbiology and Oral Medicine & Radiology are the two chapters/topics which carry the highest weightage of approximately 15 marks each in the NEET MDS entrance exam. Candidates must note that this is based on previous years' analysis. For the upcoming NEET MDS exam, the weightage may differ. Hence, students must give equal emphasis to all subjects or topics.
