Q:   Why does the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi cutoff decrease every year?
A:

Maulana Azad Institute offers MBBS course based on NEET scores. It had released the Round 2 cutoffs across various AI and Home State categories. The cutoffs are subject to change based on a variety of factors, including the number of applicants, degree of difficulty, the question paper and goodwill of the institute, influence the cutoffs. Lets discuss all the factors influence the cutoffs:

  1. Total number of seats available: The cutoff primarily depends on the total number of seats available in medical colleges across the country for that particular year. If the seats are less, there are chances of lower cutoff ranks.
  2. Number of candidates appearing for the exam: The larger the number of candidates appearing for NEET, the higher the competition and the higher the cutoff scores. If the pool of students seeking admission are more for any institute then, it might affect its cutoff ranks to decrease in future.
  3. Difficulty level of the question paper: If the question paper is perceived to be difficult in a given year, the cutoff scores tend to be lower to account for the tougher exam. Conversely, an easier paper may result in lower cutoff ranks and Vise Versa.
  4. Normalization process: NEET UG uses a normalization process to ensure fairness across multiple sessions of the exam. This normalization takes into account the difficulty level of each session's question paper. The decrease in the cutoff somehow due to the tough exam based on different shifts.

It is a good college to learn to become a good doctor. Faculty give their best to make you the best.
Placements: It provides good opportunities to get placement. You will get an assured internship of Rs. 23,500 per month for one year, and after that, you also have a 50% internal quota for PG seats, so it is a good point to choose this college for your betterment.

One of the best dental college and hospital - MAIDS.
Placements: Out of 32 students of 2012 batch, 11 were selected for PG. The salary offered is Rs. 92,000 per month. The rest few have opened clinics and have an average salary of Rs. 50,000 per month. Few of them are preparing for NEET MS 2019. This is the best dental hospital in the country, so the reputation is good. There is junior internship of 10-12 seats for the period of the 1st year offer which is not reserved for only MAIDS, in fact, all India level.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility provided. There are labs for making denture appliances. Histology classes and sports ground of MAMC are available. The quality of the lab is one of the best among Indian dental colleges. The hostel rooms are quite good which are offered from MAMC and canteens are open 24 hours.
Faculty: The courses offered here are bachelor of dental surgery and master in dental surgery in various departments like oral radiology and medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics and conservative dentistry, orthodontics, pedodontics, public health dentistry, periodontics, and oral pathology.
Other: Dental health mela is organised in November/December every year.

Awesome faculty with good placements but bad infrastructure.
Placements: There was 90% of the placement with the minimum package of 4 lakhs per annum provided for our batch, and the maximum package was 10 lakhs per annum. Ottobock, Endolite and various other healthcare firms visited our college. Mainly clinical roles were offered to us. We don't get the internship in the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good. But there is a very big library with all kind of medical books. The playground is good, but we cant play all kinds of sports and games. The pathology lab is awesome but needs a lot of maintenance. The hostel facility is good, but the canteen and the mess are not good. There are many other infrastructure related issues.
Faculty: The faculty is very good and very helpful. They are very knowledgeable and highly qualified and having awesome teaching methods. They are true mentors, and the curriculum is useful for every student. We don't need any exposure as our college is enough to teach us all sort of things.
