A college worth taking admission in.
Placements: I don't know the percentage of the students who got placed, but I can say it will be a few, not because there were fewer opportunities but because of the type of placements they bring in, for example, call centre jobs, which many students don't prefer to do. Internships are sufficient.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is eye-catching with so much greenery; the college was also once awarded as the cleanest college in Tricity. The internet connection is not worth raising. There are two canteens providing delicious food and a basketball court, a celebration ground, where festivals are celebrated.
Faculty: The faculty was great, and the teachers were really helpful and kind towards the students. They are highly knowledgeable, more than we could think. The course curriculum is also relevant. It does make the student industry ready. The exams are held twice a year.
Other: I chose a Bachelor of Arts with English Honours as the arts stream allows us to enter into any course of field in which we want to excel, from political science to economics; the arts is a vast stream. Meraki is the annual festival, which is a lot of fun.

Satisfied because of faculty and opportunities.
Placements: I was enrolled in B.A. Hons English Batch from the year 2014-17. I then pursued my Masters in English literature from the Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University Chandigarh. There are many opportunities and there is freedom to choose from different internship programs held in our college annually. The placements depend upon the students participation.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of our college are very well designed and well structured. There is a private Wi-Fi area for students perusal. The environment is very well disciplined and eco friendly. There are AC labs and a well stocked library available. We have a fully air conditioned mess in which meals are decently scheduled as per the needs of the students nutrition. The hostel is coordinated by very capable professors and the administration is very particular regarding the timings, schedule and following the rules of the hostel. There is a very friendly atmosphere in all the blocks. It gives a very enriching experience from your days of the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty of the Department of English in MCM DAV College for Women is helpful and kind. I had the opportunity to be taught by Dr Jasmine Anand during my B.A. Hons in English as well as my pre Ph.D. Coursework which I got enrolled for in 2024. She taught Electives English subject during my B.A. and research methodology during my Ph.D. coursework. The environment of her class is always of warmth and inclusiveness. She welcomes and appreciates any doubts or queries her students have and her way of teaching helps everyone gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter. She discussed the topics in details and illustrates them with real life examples which make the experience even more relatable and enriching. She has a very well structured plan for the courses that she teaches. MA'am is always readily available for any queries whether professional or personal. She has a very unique approach in teaching us and preparing us for our future which is immeasurable beyond any pedagogical knowledge. During my Bachelors, Dr Jasmine Anand's approach was more related to student queries and their personal problems and experiences in adjusting to a new environment as we had a lighter subject at hand. During my pre Ph.D. Coursework, she taught us to be bold, tough and ready to take any problem head on as we will be embarking on a very challenging journey ahead.
Other: I studied B.A. Hons in English from MCM DAV College for Women from 2014-17. I chose this particular course as I have always loved reading and wanted to explore further in this field. My experience at the college was great as the Department of English has wonderful faculty members who are always ready to help and guide their students.

    The staff is really good.
Placements: There were many good placements that were offered by our college. The average package offered by the college is very high. Aditya Birla Sunrise, Indigo, Amazon, Calvin Klein, Wipro Technologies, Tommy Hilfiger, Teach Mahindra TD, and many more.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the hostel is very good. Wi-Fi facilities are very good. Classrooms are very neat and clean. The library has books that contain a lot of information. In the hostel, there is a library, clean washrooms, a gym, a canteen, a park, open space, and many more.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very relevant, and the exams held in college are passed with very good percentages. The teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable. All the staff is well qualified. The courses that are taught here make the students ready.
Other: Events are organized very nicely.

Dissatisfied:no good placements, favouritism in selection of clubs/committee head.
Placements: There is a scarcity of placement opportunities on campus, and the few that are available offer meager salaries and incentives. This lack of attractive prospects discourages students from pursuing these opportunities, despite the immense effort they put into earning their degrees.
Infrastructure: The students often face difficulties accessing the Wi-Fi, despite the fact that there are numerous occasions when they require it and their personal mobile data is not functioning. The classroom's projector screens are in dire need of replacement or repair as they have been damaged, making it extremely challenging to comprehend the displayed material. It would be beneficial to designate a specific section in the library where students can bring their own textbooks and study, particularly during the summer months. This is crucial as it becomes arduous to work outside in the heat without the option of bringing our books into the library.
Faculty: The faculty's level of understanding falls short of what could be expected, and the curriculum is excessively inflexible, particularly in the realm of fine arts. Regrettably, the students lack the freedom to express themselves artistically as they had anticipated and hoped for when enrolling in this course.
Other: The campus lacks a variety of activities, resulting in a rather monotonous campus life.

    Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: A good percentage of students are selected for the course, and a good number of companies offer internships. Probably, many students get internships from the course they study in their companies. Sixty percent or more get placed in the course. All in all, everything is good.
Infrastructure: Good facilities with proper lab classrooms and a library. There are separate rooms and grounds for games and sports. Wi-Fi is available for the students to use, and hostels are also equipped with libraries and stores. Medical rooms are provided, and students can take a rest.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, and things were easier to attempt the exam. The course curriculum is relevant. The semester exams could be considered not difficult as questions are easy to attempt. The teaching qualities are excellent. The passing percentage is probably fifty or more.

I am really satisfied with my college due to its environment, helpful nature of the teachers.
Placements: Around 50% of the students are placed in my course. Many students get placement opportunities every year as my course provides a lot of platform in every fields. According to our course students get various opportunities after graduation as a Spoken English trainer jobs .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in our college is very well-equipped with beautiful buildings and decoration. There are Wi-Fi facilities in every classroom and also in the library. The quality of food available in our hostel is just average, medical facilities are also available during emergencies, sports like basketball, football are available where the girls from sports background used to practice daily.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are very helpful and motivate the students in each and every field. They are mostly Ph.D. holders with various talents and knowledge and each and every teachers treat the students very friendly. Yes this course is relevant and it makes the students industry ready. The semester exams are not too difficult and the pass percentage is around 40% for the weaker students.
Other: I have chosen this course because it provides a great opportunity for the students in building their career and also provide a platform to study abroad without much labour. I would like to improve the library by removing the outdated books and replacing it with new edition of books Every year our college organises various fests, competition and programmes where celebrity, singer come from different places to enrich the beauty of our college. Students also showcast their hidden talents by participating in various events.
