Medical College Admission Process 2025
Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata offers MBBS at UG level, MD/ MS/ PG Diploma across specialisations at the postgraduate level, and DM and MCh at the Doctorate Level. It also offers Nursing and Paramedical courses. Admission is done strictly on the basis of merit in the entrance test.
Candidates will have to apply for NEET-UG examination conducted by NTA to take admission in MBBS course. Students applying for the postgraduate courses have to apply online through website of NEET-PG conducted by NBE. For DM/ MCH, selection is done on the basis of rank obtained in the NEET-SS examination by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi. For PhD courses, candidates should have MD/MSc degree with a minimum of 55% to become eligible. You must have passed MPT degree, for PhD in Physiotherapy, candidates should have passed.

1. Application Process
Prospective students need to initiate their journey by completing the application process. They can access the application form via the official website of Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. 2. Entrance Examination
Admission to various courses at Medical College Kolkata, including MBBS, MD/MS/PG Diploma, and DM/MCh, is strictly based on merit in the entrance examination. For MBBS, applicants must appear for the NEET-UG examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Likewise, for postgraduate courses, candidates must participate in the NEET-PG examination organised by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

NTA released the re-revised scorecard on July 26, 2024. In this scorecard, the score has been revised as per the Supreme Court verdict of removing the bonus marks awarded earlier for the controversial Physics question, and deducting one mark from those who marked incorrect answer options. The city and centre-wise result data such as number of candidates appeared and scores obtained, by masking candidates' personal data was released on July 21, as per the Supreme Court order given on the hearing dated July 18, 2024. The NEET 2024 result for the re-exam, which was conducted on June 23, was declared on July 1, day day after the slated date. The final answer keys for the NEET 2024 re-exam was released by June 30, ahead of the result declaration. Earlier, the result of NEET 2024 was declared by NTA on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the original schedule, which was June 14, 2024. NTA released the final NEET answer keys on June 4, prior to the release of the NEET result 2024. The NEET result was declared in an online mode. Candidates have to log in with their registration credentials or application number and date of birth, and download their scorecard in PDF format. NTA also released the merit list containing the name, Roll Number, All India Rank and Percentile of the candidates. Along with the NEET 2024 scorecard, NTA also released the NEET 2024 cutoff marks or the qualifying marks/scores.
Medical College MD Admission 2025
Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata offers Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 17 specializations and a Master of Surgery (MS) degree in 5 specialisations. The course duration of MD/MS is 3 years (2 years for those with a 2 years recognized diploma in the same speciality).
- Candidates who have passed MBBS from a Medical college which is recognized by the Medical Council of India are eligible for MD/MS
- Candidate must have completed his/her rotating internship for atleast 1 year after passing the MBBS examination are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have got themselves registered (Provisional or Permanent) with any Medical Council (State or Central) to be eligible
- Counselling will be conducted by the Director General of Health Science (DGHS) and the name of candidates who clear the cut-off score of NEET-PG will be forwarded to RM to complete the admission process
Selection Process: Selection to MD/MS is done based on the NEET-PG entrance examination conducted by the DGHS. The merit list will be prepared for all categories based on candidates’ scores in NEET PG

For NEET PG Round 1 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 3573 and closing rank was 3573 for the general category candidates under All India quota.
