Medical College Kolkata Admission: Application, Fee, Eligibility & Dates

The total amount of tuition fee for MBBS at the Medical college of Kolkata is 45,000. The fee for this course in other colleges are high, especially in the private medical colleges. NTA released the re-revised scorecard on July 26, 2024. In this scorecard, the score has been revised as per the Supreme Court verdict of removing the bonus marks awarded earlier for the controversial Physics question, and deducting one mark from those who marked incorrect answer options. The city and centre-wise result data such as number of candidates appeared and scores obtained, by masking candidates' personal data was released on July 21, as per the Supreme Court order given on the hearing dated July 18, 2024. The NEET 2024 result for the re-exam, which was conducted on June 23, was declared on July 1, day day after the slated date. The final answer keys for the NEET 2024 re-exam was released by June 30, ahead of the result declaration. Earlier, the result of NEET 2024 was declared by NTA on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the original schedule, which was June 14, 2024. NTA released the final NEET answer keys on June 4, prior to the release of the NEET result 2024. The NEET result was declared in an online mode. Candidates have to log in with their registration credentials or application number and date of birth, and download their scorecard in PDF format. NTA also released the merit list containing the name, Roll Number, All India Rank and Percentile of the candidates. Along with the NEET 2024 scorecard, NTA also released the NEET 2024 cutoff marks or the qualifying marks/scores. 

The Medical college Kolkata, offers a total of 250 seats for the MBBS course. The institute will take in only 250 students in a year. This number of seats are based on its capacity to accommodate the students. The course is offered for a total tuition fee of 40,500. The candidates are selected for the course based on their NEET-UG exam marks. These students must secure the maximum marks as the minimum cutoff or marks required changes from year to year. Since thousands of candidates write the exams it becomes necessary for them to clear the cutoff and go through the counselling process. The seats for MBBS are also limited, therefore candidates with the maximum mark and the highest ranks are selected by the Institutions. The Eligibility criteria for MBBS at Medical college of Kolkata is pretty much similar to other goverment medical colleges. The MBBS course seats are allotted on the basis of NEET-UG score and rank. Therefore, the candidates will have to apply for the NEET-UG examination conducted by the NTA for the admissions for MBBS. After the NEET-UG results, the cutoff is released by the MCC or the Medical counselling committee based on various factors. The candidates must have also secured a minimum of 50% in Physics, chemistry, biology and English in their class 10 and 12 examination. The cutoff scores depends on the individual candidates as they vary for each categories. Without qualifying for the NEET cutoff it is not possible t get admissions to any MBBS colleges in India. It is difficult to get admissions to top government medical college which are below 500 to 600. 

For 2022, cut off was 1855 for General category candidates in All India quota for MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Medical College. NEET cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
