B.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering - Batch of 2027

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty.
Placements: Well, this course is new in our campus and it's our first-ever batch, which is in its 4th year now. In their last semester, they are going to go for an internship. Except for our course, in biotechnology, I heard 1-2 students got placement, while others try to pursue M.Sc./M.Tech.
Infrastructure: In our building, the first floor is for the mechanical department, while the 2nd floor contains our labs, our main office, and staff room with HOD cabins. Labs are in good condition, and our classes are placed on the 4th floor. They have many good classrooms with projectors in each class, and there is a very good library with access to Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Well, our teachers are quite qualified. For example, our teachers have done M.Sc. and M.Tech. in their core field, but for biomedical engineering, they lack staff. For anatomy, we have staff from food technology. I don't think students are getting ready for industry-level roles. The exams are quite easy here; if you have basic knowledge of the subject, you can easily clear the exam.
Other: We don’t have any extracurricular activities. We don't have a sports period; we just have an Olympic event. No fests, no freshers, no scholarships in this university.

College review given by an average B.Tech student.
Placements: I am a first-year B.Tech Biotechnology student at MGM University Institute of Biosciences and Technology. So far, the college is good. Lectures are conducted regularly, and teachers are also good, with a few exceptions. Labs are also conducted regularly every day, and the laboratories are well maintained. There are a total of 20 labs in the department and three computer labs. I do not know about placements because it is my first year, but from what the seniors say, your CGPA matters if you want placement.
Infrastructure: I do not live in the hostel as the college is near my house, but the Wi-Fi in college has good range. The classrooms are also well maintained. The food is not good in the mess, but the canteen food is great. CCTV surveillance is on 24/7. A swimming pool and a cricket ground are also there. A gym is also available.
Faculty: The faculty are very good, I can say, because the senior teachers teach very well, but the junior teachers are a bit disrespectful towards the students. Also, the teachers are very strict towards the first-year students. The curriculum is relevant to real life, and the semester exams are not easy but also not very hard. An average student will get passing marks, but to top the semester, it needs hard work.

Biomedical engineering is the best course in other countries, but our college doesn't have faculty.
Placements: Only 10 percent of students who have passed out get placement with a 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Philips, Johnson & Johnson, etc. 60-70% of students get internships in various companies like Wochkart. Top roles offered in our college are teacher-based roles in colleges.
Infrastructure: Yes, the infrastructure is excellent. Wi-Fi is available on each floor. The library is very well-equipped. The chemical lab is available for each course. Classrooms are well-designed. Mess and canteen facilities are also available. Medical facilities are also present, and the college has top rankings in sports.
Faculty: Biomedical engineering faculty is not available. But the teachers for other courses are knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is also above average. Semester exams are very difficult because of the strict invigilation. The exam department is very strict and efficient.
Other: Biomedical engineering enhances the health sector and is growing in India. The college should enhance the course and bring knowledgeable teachers in the biomedical field. The worst thing is we can't have scholarships. There are extracurricular activities.

M.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2020

Review of Institute of Biosciences and Technology, MGM University.
Placements: In the 2020 batch, there were no placements to speak of. Two companies based in Chikalthana MIDC, Greatagro and NE Chemical, hired 4 students at a package of 2 LPA. A 2 LPA package for master's students is very low. Most students prepare for government jobs and off-campus opportunities. Many students secure government apprentice positions.
Infrastructure: Our university campus is very large, with many places for studying. During exams, it feels fresh and refreshing. In our batch, we have 62 students, and Wi-Fi is available on campus. Our library is very spacious. I didn't prefer staying in the hostel; I lived in a PG near the college, where the meals were awesome and provided enough quantity of food for one person.
Faculty: The faculty members of our department are very active; we have 13 faculty members. Teachers mostly focus on practicals, which are the most important part of the curriculum. We have a three-hour schedule for practicals every day. The course curriculum is affiliated with BAMU University. Now, I've heard that the college has its own university, which is good. In our time, BAMU was considered a backward university. Exams are very challenging, with a passing criteria of 35%.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology - Batch of 2019

Teaching quality at this college.
Placements: In this college, 20-25% of the students get placements in Biotechnology. Our college was providing average placement opportunities. Average package offered in the college was 3-5 LPA. Top recruiters were from the Pharma and Biotechnology. Around 50% of students get internships at this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was above average. Facilities offered here were of good quality. Hostel facility was not available in our college. Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen etc. were provided. Sports and other necessary facilities were available in our college.
Faculty: The faculty was helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers were offering both theoretical and practical knowledge to the students. The curriculum of our course was relevant and made students job ready. Exams of the college were easy.

Satisfied because of our university environment and helpful faculty members.
Placements: There are placements in our university, but our seniors say that there are not many placements. As per the college, they said while taking admission that they will give placements to everyone, but according to the seniors, not everyone gets placement here. In my batch, there are 30 students, and I guess not everyone will get placement. Our college said companies like Wipro, Reliance, and many more have come for placements, which have been given to our seniors.
Infrastructure: I would not at all recommend taking admission in the university hostel as they charge very high fees and take fees annually. As per my personal experience, I haven't taken admission in the hostel; I have just taken a room on rent near the college. Almost 80% of students do this, and if you're taking admission here, you should also take a room nearby. I would not recommend taking admission in the hostel, as they have many rules, like students should come back by 8 o'clock, and they can't stay out at night. Even if you want to go to your own home, you have to write a letter and get it verified by your guardians, among many other rules.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and kind. One of our biology teachers is very kind and humble; I really think how a person can be so kind. However, on the other hand, some teachers are kind of rude. It’s not good to say, but I am honestly sharing this. We have many classes and co-curricular activities, so there are many practicals done in labs, etc. It’s my first year, and I am going to give my first semester exam, so I don’t have much of an idea, but my seniors said it’s not too tough if we have studied.
Other: I chose my course for my own satisfaction. I didn’t take it under any pressure from my parents or anyone else. It was my own choice, as I love both the medical and engineering fields. Due to some reasons, I wasn't able to take admission for MBBS, so I preferred to take admission in biomedical engineering. Yes, there are many courses in our university, so you can choose according to your own preference.
