Best campus, student-oriented, field exposure, good facilities at campus and great opportunities.
Placements: About 80-90% students are placed at ICMR, government sector, Tata Memorial Hospital, private companies, NGOs & reputed hospitals. Packages depend on experience and practical domain. An internship is provided in the final year. WHO, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Deloitte & Apollo Hospital, Kokilaben Hospital, etc. Role offered are programme coordinator, public health manager, and project field officer.
Infrastructure: For lectures, we have AC, well-ventilated, clean classrooms. The library is spread over an entire floor, and books are sufficient with new versions available on time. E-library and Wi-Fi facilities are provided. Flexible library timing and proper service exist. Clean, quiet, and good light are present in the reading area. I am a day scholar, but canteen food is provided during events, and I have tasted it, the taste is good, clean service, and the MGM canteen kitchen is A+ certified. At MGM, medical facilities are provided at MGM Hospital. MGM has a sports committee for encouraging indoor and outdoor games and holds competitions.
Faculty: The MPH course is dedicated to being alert, active, and involved in the upcoming and ongoing situations in communities. There are well-qualified faculty members with an ocean of knowledge. MPH is a two-year professional course consisting of 4 semesters (1 semester at the end of each 6 months). The curriculum involves related subject topics and research. Each semester upgrades students for their professional aspects, and practical rural and urban postings are done for field exposure with real-time exposure to the government sector and communities, serving various ANC camps, immunisation schedules, PHC working and visits, seminars, and events are also provided. Lecturers give live examples and think-tank situations so that students know how to apply the lecture practically.
Other: I chose MPH because during my UG, I was involved in research, short studies, report writing, held camps and events, engaged with NGOs, etc. Community engagement led me to adopt MPH to navigate myself correctly and serve the best to the community in all possible ways, and MGMSBS was the right choice for my course as they provide the right path to follow, like field exposure, engagement in events, encouragement to participate in camps, presentations, surveys, PHC posting, etc. The lectures provided by faculty members are the best. The annual fest and ICMR workshops, health day, events, and seminars are celebrated at MGM. The campus location is central, so easy connectivity is provided, and bus facilities are also available.
