The MIT Institute of Design offers a full-time MDes programme. The duration of course is two-years. Total 12 specialisations are offered. Some specialisations are Product Design, Fashion Design, Design Management, etc. Admissions are conducted in two phases. In Phase I, applicants have to submit their Portfolio and Statement of Purpose (SOP). The university selects number of students based on this. Phase II consists of a Studio Test and Interview. Phase II is conducted on-campus in Pune. Applicants may have to appear for Design Aptitude Test (DAT) as well.

The total MITID MDes fee is INR 13 lakh. Fee can be paid either annually or in installments. Some extra charges also may apply depending on payment method. No, in my knowledge there is no other way of entering the institute without giving the MIT DAT exams.
DAT includes questions which are objective, subjective and a drawing test. The objective and subjective selections will be conducted on computer for drawing the question will be on the screen but the canditate must draw on a A4 sheet . In the second round, a personal interview and portfolio review will be done and the results will be declared on the MITID websites.
The marks are as followed for Design Aptitude Test it is 25 for Portfolio review 25 marks and Personal Interview 50 marks.
For admission to the UG level programme, i.e. BDes, candidates must have passed class 12. Also, candidates are required to appear for the MITID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) based on which candidates will be selected for further admission rounds which include the Studio test and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The final selection list is made on cumulative assessment of all rounds and for final seat allotment, candidates will be required to report to the admission cell at MITID for document verification and fee payment.

Yes, hostels are provided by the university. The total hostel fee per year is around INR 2 lakh. It is not mandatory to opt for hostels. However, if opted, mess & laundry charges are compulsory. As per Shiksha reviews, hostel rooms are provided in twin and triple sharing occupancy. Other facilities
