Admission Cycle 1
The MITID DAT 2025 entrance exam (Cycle I) was conducted on April 6, 2025. The last date to apply was February 28, 2025. The exam will include a Design Entrance Test (DET). The exam will include subjective and objective questions. The scores of the DET will be used to shortlist candidates for a Studio Test and a Personal Interview. The MIT Institute of Design declared the results of the MITID DAT 2025 exam on April 25, 2025 (after 5 pm).
Admission Cycle 2 (ONLY for M.Des)
The last date for submission of the application form was extended till April 20, 2025. Initially, it was supposed to close on April 14, 2025. The exam centre is MITID Campus, Loni-Pune (Take note that there will be no other exam center for M.Des cycle 2 Round). The Design Entrance Test, Studio Test & Interview round was conducted on April 27, 2025.
The MITID Design Entrance Test (MITID DET) 2025 is jointly conducted for admissions to B.Des and M.Des programs at MIT Institute of Design (MIT ID) Pune, Avantika University Ujjain, and MIT University Shillong. The final result-cum-merit list will be prepared by giving weightage to:

A. Admit cards for the MITID DAT 2025 exam was released a few days before the conduct of the Design Aptitude Test. To download the admit card, the candidate had to enter their candidate credentials. On the day of the exam, the candidate had to bring their admit card and a valid photo id proof.
The admit card contained details like the date and time of the exam, reporting time, and exam-day guidelines. Note that adoption of unfair means inside the exam hall could lead to disqualification.

Where in Objective Test candidates have to choose the correct option, in Descriptive Test they have to write the correct answer in the text box. Drawing Exam is an Offline Test. For this section candidates are provided A4 size drawing sheets to draw using Pens / Pencils / Colours etc. After the exam is over, the answer sheets are collected, scanned and uploaded for evaluation at the test centre.

Step 1: Register for the exam
To register, visit the official website of the MIT Institute of Design: https://www.mitid.edu.in/admission/admission-process/. Upon entering the registration details, an automated verification link will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID. Click on the link to activate the account.
Step 2: Fill out the application form
After activating their account, candidates had to fill in the required details in the application form and upload their passport-size photograph. After that, candidates have to accept the declaration and submit the online application form.

The National Institute of Design (NID) is expected to conduct the DAT Prelims exam in the first week of January 2026.
The B.Des exam will be held around 10 am - 1 pm; meanwhile, the M.Des exam will be held around 10 am - 12.30 am. The candidate needs to report for the exam at 8 am. Gates' closing time is 9.30 am.
The DAT Prelims for the B.Des programme will be conducted in a paper-and-pencil/pen mode. The question paper may include both textual and visual questions. Other details like duration of the exam, marking scheme, etc., will be published in the DAT Prelims admit card.
