NMIMS Chandigarh SOL's Legal Aid Camp Empowers Sarangpur Village with Legal Awareness and Support

February 7, 2024: The Legal Aid Clinic at SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh’s School of Law (SOL), in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) of Chandigarh Union Territory (U.T.) and the Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh, hosted a Legal Aid Camp in Sarangpur Village, Chandigarh, on January 30, 2024. Under the guidance of Mita Chadha, Assistant Professor and Faculty Convener of the Legal Aid Clinic, SLSA, and Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh, the camp saw participation from members of the Legal Aid Clinic, NMIMS SOL Chandigarh, esteemed delegates from SLSA, and the villagers of Sarangpur.
The primary objective of the event was to raise legal awareness and educate the residents about the availability of free legal aid for the underprivileged. Members of the Legal Aid Clinic engaged in door-to-door outreach to inform the community about legal aid initiatives and the services provided by SOL Chandigarh's Legal Aid Clinic. A highlight of the event was a street play performed by the Legal Aid Clinic members, focusing on women's empowerment. Additionally, delegates from SLSA addressed various social issues during the gathering.
Shiv from SLSA initiated the event with an inspiring speech, followed by Jasveer Kaur shedding light on societal prejudices against girls. Sukhdev Kaur elaborated on relevant laws and encouraged attendees to openly discuss legal matters. Mita Chadha introduced the Legal Aid Clinic and assured the community of free legal assistance. The event left the Sarangpur residents motivated, inspiring them to voice their grievances and seek help from the Legal Cell. It was a testament to the Legal Aid Clinic's commitment to social issues and legal advocacy, reflecting its dedication to serving the community.
The Chandigarh State Legal Services Authority Hosted a Transformative Legal Awareness and Capacity Building Session at NMIMS Chandigarh School of Law
November 6, 2023: To celebrate National Legal Services Day, the Chandigarh State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority of Chandigarh Union Territory (U.T.), held the "Legal Awareness and Capacity Building Program" to teach students about access to justice and the field of Para Legal Services. NMIMS Chandigarh School of Law was the only private institution in the region to be chosen for this important event.
The program was attended by distinguished guests such as Justice Surender Kumar, Additional District and Sessions Judge and Member Secretary, SLSA, U.T., Chandigarh; Justice Navjeet Klair, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), U.T., Chandigarh; and other legal luminaries, including Sh. Lalit, PLV, DLSA, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Gopal Attri, PLV, DLSA, U.T., Chandigarh, as well as esteemed members of the NMIMS Chandigarh leadership and eager students from NMIMS School of Law Chandigarh.
February 7, 2023: The first Kushagra: An Inter-School Quiz was recently held at the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Chandigarh, drawing players from all around India.
Students in Classes 9 through 12 could participate in the test. There were more than 760 participants in the virtual preliminary rounds from 50 different institutions. The top 50 teams from throughout India were selected for the Grand Finale, which was hosted at the NMIMS Chandigarh campus, following a close elimination match. All of the selected teams arrived at Chandigarh Campus with heebie-jeebies.
Kushagra was created to recognise and honour youthful talent and provide them with a chance to demonstrate their knowledge and aptitude for quizzes. Quizzes, apart from being fun, are also a great learning tool, encouraging students to be confident and eager to explore new topics. The quiz contest covered topics on a wide range of subjects, including History, Politics, Geography, Culture, Heritage, Art, Food, Fashion, Sports, Science, Technology, Business, Literature, Mythology, and Current Affairs, to name a few.
NMIMS University Announces New-Age Programs In Computer Engineering And Data Science At Their Chandigarh Campus
July 28, 2022: Two cutting-edge programmes in computer engineering and computer science and engineering (data science) have been introduced at SVKM's NMIMS School of Technology Management and Engineering (STME) at its Chandigarh location. The courses are meant to bring students up to date with the rapidly evolving, technologically based industrial processes.
A distinctive curriculum designed for the complete four-year B Tech programme in Computer Engineering will assist students in developing skills in cutting-edge engineering techniques and disruptive technologies. The course content adheres to worldwide standards and is balanced between computer engineering, basic sciences, and mathematics.
The four-year undergraduate B Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) curriculum provides a strong balance of engineering, mathematics, analytics management, and general education relevant to current Data Science skill sets.
The two B Tech programmes, which have been approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), are especially created to give young people in Punjab, Haryana, and the neighbouring territories job and entrepreneurial options.
The programmes also provide industry internships and project work to help students get jobs or pursue additional education and research.

NMIMS to hold Virtual Career Fair ‘Mastermind 2022’ on February 25 & 26
February 17, 2022: On the 25th and 26th of February 2022, SVKM's NMIMS University, Mumbai will host Mastermind 2022 - India's largest virtual Career Fair from 10 am to 5 pm on both days. Subject area experts from 16 schools and 8 NMIMS locations will be on hand to help students in Class 11 and 12 choose the proper career path and provide information about NMIMS' several undergraduate programmes.
The virtual fair is intended to provide students and parents with an immersive online experience that includes information about all of NMIMS' programmes, campus tours, webinars, and brochure downloads.
