NIELIT Admission Process 2023

National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Chandigarh was established in 1978 to provide professional and educational services in the areas of Information, Electronics & Communication Technology (IECT). The institution is run by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. It currently offers more than 60 short-term as well as long-term courses to impart training programmes aimed at skill up-gradation in emerging areas of Electronics and Information Technology. NIELIT Chandigarh entered into an MoU with IIT Ropar in 2017 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship driven opportunities so as to launch the skill-oriented and tailor-made courses in line with the government's vision of Skill India, Digital India and Make in India.

NIELIT Chandigarh has started a five-month Finishing School Programme in the disciplines of Electronics and IT. The programme is started by NIELIT Chandigarh in collaboration with IIT Roopar to upskill the students of Computer Science, Electronics and IT.

The number of seats available for this course is 15 per batch.

NIELIT Chandigarh offers various skill-enhancement courses from basic to advanced level. The admission process of all the programmes are presented in brief below:

NIELIT Chandigarh admission to short-term courses is based on the academic merit of the candidates
Admission to long-term courses is conducted through NIELIT entrance exam
The long-term courses generally begin in January and July every year
The admissions are open throughout the year for short-term courses
The application mode is completely online

NIELIT Chandigarh Admission 2023: Short-term Courses

The duration of the short-term courses offered by NIELIT Chandigarh varies from four to eight weeks. The curriculum of these courses is designed to be a value-addition to the candidate's skill set. Those who fit the eligibility criteria can apply directly to the institute for enrolment. The admission is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

NIELIT Chandigarh Admission 2023: Long-term courses

NIELIT Chandigarh offers long-term certificate and diploma programmes in the field of IT, Electronics and Multimedia. The duration of these programmes ranges from six months to one year. Candidates who wish to apply to one of these courses are required to appear for NIELIT entrance exam. Before applying for admission, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria of these courses, as mentioned below:

Post Graduate Diploma in Software Technologies	Engineering/ DOEACC ‘A’ or ‘B’ Level/ MSc(IT)/ MCA/ BCA/ Diploma in Computer Science or Electronics

NIELIT Chandigarh Application Process 2022

Candidates can apply online through the student portal of NIELIT (https://student.nielit.gov.in/). The step-wise application process is elaborated below:

Click on 'new user' and create an account using E-mail ID and contact number
Enter personal details such as candidate's name, gender, nationality, date of birth, etc
Enter the correspondence address of the candidate
Update the academic details such as qualifications achieved, year of passing, name of the board/ university, etc
Enter Aadhaar card number. In the absence of Aadhar, the candidate may submit the details of other official IDs such as PAN card, passport, driving license, etc
Pay the application fee of Rs 500 and click on 'submit'

Documents required to be submitted with NIELIT Chandigarh application form

Once the application number is generated, candidates need to log in again with their credentials and upload the following scanned documents:

Passport-size photograph
Class 10 certificate bearing date of birth
Mark sheets and certificates of educational qualifications
Adhaar card/ photo ID card

NIELIT Chandigarh Scholarships 2022

NIELIT offers Protsahan Puraskar Scheme (erstwhile Scholarship Scheme) for SC/ST/physically handicapped and female students pursuing NIELIT O/A/B/C level courses.

Eligibility for the scholarship:

Candidates must clear the papers in the first attempt
The income of the parents of the student from all sources should not be more than Rs 1 LPA

A candidate has to apply for the Scholarship along with the following documents:

Proof of registration/op-gradation
Proof of passing the examination of the relevant level
Proof of pursuing O/A/B/C level as full-time courses
Proof of income

Great Placements, Awesome faculty members and satisfied with Infrastructure.

Placements: There is a huge scope of placement. Lots of students gets their placements in different multi national companies of Information Technologies industries. Students of not only my branch, but other branch students are also having regular placements. Last year placement was about 85%. .

Infrastructure: The entire college campus is spread into very large area of campus. All buildings are of high quality and are renovated at regular intervals. The campus has many sports grounds also like basketball court volleyball court etc. It has also a swimming pool of moderate quality.

Faculty: All faculty members are well-equipped with their knowledge and are highly qualified. They are very collaborative. They give their best so that students understand all topics efficiently. Some faculty members also provide online problems solving assessment where students can ask their doubts with WhatsApp.

Other: The whole campus is full of various trees and plants. The campus is also well-equipped with high-speed wi-fi services. Other extra curriculum activities are also held at regular intervals.
