The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Imphal has a 50% minimum cutoff point for undergraduate Diploma. Candidates who have completed their degree examination with at least 50% of the possible points are eligible to apply for NIELIT Imphal's UG Diploma courses. The Institute does not administer significant entrance exams for admission to its UG Diploma programmes; instead, admissions are made primarily based on merit and the results of previous degree or school board exams.

Nonetheless, the Indian government recognises both institutes, which are a part of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).
