National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Kannur was established in 2008. It is ranked 9th amongst the 16 NIRF institutes across India. It is a government institute and is equipped with top class infrastructure great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs, and specialised workshops etc. It offers various courses under the UG and PG program.

NIFT Cutoff 2025 has been released for Round 5 for various categories. During the Round 5 cutoff, the closing ranks ranged between 226 and 2374 wherein BDes in Fashion Communication turned out as the toughest course to get into National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur for the students belonging to the General AI category students. Students need to secure a valid score in order to confirm their admission at the institute. 

NIFT Kannur is a government institute. It has a great infrastructure and is equipped with great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs etc. Like other NIFT campuses, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs and addmission to these programs is based on marks scored in NIFT Entrance Exam. The entrance exam is further divided into three parts, i.e., Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round.

Check below the list of documents required for "UDAAN Scholarship at NIFT Kannur:

• One self-attested passport size photograph with signature 
• Income declaration-affidavit (Format- B) on non-judicial stamp paper of 10 (Rupees Ten) by each parent.
• Proof of permanent residence.
• Photocopies of Passport and PAN card of parents / guardian and applicant. However, in case the student /parent/ guardian does not possess PAN Card and/or Passport, then an Affidavit may be taken from the student to that effect.
• School leaving certificate for class X and XII (Proof of school fee, wherever possible).
• The copy of receipt of tuition fee paid for the current semester i.e. July – December. vii. Schedule (Format -C details of agricultural land and property, etc.) duly signed by parent with relevant revenue record.
• Bank statements for the last 12 months for all the accounts mentioned in Schedule (Format- C).

• 3 year's Income Tax returns copy/Form 16 for salaried / 16 A for business owners.
• Vehicle registration copy
• Tehsildar certificate of agriculture land alongwith certified revenue records such as khasra, khatouni, etc.
• Documents related to any other scholarship / sponsorship receipt. Document related to SC / ST / OBC / PHP certificate

For the current academic year (2022–2023), the hostel price is Rs. 46000, excluding mess fees. In addition to the foregoing, new participants must pay a non-refundable security deposit of Rs. 3000 and a refundable security deposit of Rs. 3000, for a total of Rs. 52000 for non-AC rooms with triple occupancy. Charges for triple occupancy AC rooms will be Rs. 90,000 plus Rs. 6,000 in refundable security, for a total of Rs. 99,000 (subject to construction completion). It could vary in accordance with authority decisions, and any changes would be announced separately.
In addition, one month's worth of Mess fees may be applied for Mess Security.
