The National institute of fashion technology, Kolkata offers a plethora of courses among which bachelor's in design is very prominent . The course is of four years and the fees of each year is around 1,67,250, which makes a total sum of 6,69,000 for four years. The hostel fee of the college is around 9,000 per semester which the students are bound to pay before shifting, along with a 23000 in advance. If that doesn't fit in your budget you can also go for outside shelters which would cost you Rs 85000 on an average. Above all the infrastructure and the facilities which the college provides for this particular course is worth every penny as it provides specialisation in many streams such as leather design or fashion design.

Placements: Accessory Design is doing quite well than other departments, especially for Jewellery Design people. The placements are also going decent. A lot of brands come for college placements as well. We have got labs too. The lab assistants are very good and helpful as well.
Placements: Placements are good for some departments and bad for others. FC and F&LA get nice placements while the other 5 departments suffer with either low-paying jobs or even no jobs at times. So, depends on the course you choose. Earlier it was quite good, but it's regrading.

Yes, there is a scholarship called Sarthak and another one called Udaan offered at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata. Both PG and UG applicants are eligible for the scholarship program, which is dependent on the family's annual income.

As per students reviews, the NIFT Kolkata placements in recent years concluded with 80% students placed. The highest and the lowest package stood at INR 12 LPA and INR 4 LPA. The average package offered was INR 7 LPA.

NIFT Kolkata cutoff 2025 was published for admission to the various design courses for all categories under the All India quota. For the OBC AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 704 to 5950. Among the last round, the hardest course for admission was the MFM course, with the last round closing
