The total tuition fees for MFM is INR 6.2 lakh at NIFT Kolkata. The total fee includes tuition fees, admission fees, library fees, security deposit, etc. Students can make the payment through the online gateways approved by NIFT Kolkata.

Placements: Accessory Design is doing quite well than other departments, especially for Jewellery Design people. The placements are also going decent. A lot of brands come for college placements as well. We have got labs too. The lab assistants are very good and helpful as well.
Placements: Placements are good for some departments and bad for others. FC and F&LA get nice placements while the other 5 departments suffer with either low-paying jobs or even no jobs at times. So, depends on the course you choose. Earlier it was quite good, but it's regrading.
Placements: In my batch of B. Des in Accessory Design at NIFT Kolkata, around 85% of students were successfully placed. The highest package offered was around 12 Lacs per annum, while the lowest was around 4 Lacs per annum, with an average package of approximately 7 Lacs per annum. Yes, there is a scholarship called Sarthak and another one called Udaan offered at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata. Both PG and UG applicants are eligible for the scholarship program, which is dependent on the family's annual income.

Yes, getting a seat is quite competitive. In 2025, the closing rank for the B.Des Fashion Design course was 909, making it the toughest specialisation to get into. Students need serious preparation for the entrance exam and situation test to crack it.

As per students reviews, the NIFT Kolkata placements in recent years concluded with 80% students placed. The highest and the lowest package stood at INR 12 LPA and INR 4 LPA. The average package offered was INR 7 LPA.

NIFT Kolkata cutoff 2025 was published for admission to the various design courses for all categories under the All India quota. For the OBC AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 704 to 5950. Among the last round, the hardest course for admission was the MFM course, with the last round closing
