at Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore

Nehru Arts and Science College admits students to its BCom courses, based on merit in Class 12. Interested candidates require to submit their Class 12 marks at the time of application. CBSE and Tamil Nadu’s Class 12 results are generally out in the month of May. Students are recommended to keep checking their respective board’s official website to stay updated with the result.

The college claims to have 80% placement rate. The highest salary of 18,000 per month, the lowest at 10,000 per month, and an average package of 12,000 per month. HCL, TCS, AGS, AGEIS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra were top recruiters. Overall, the college is not very good in terms of placement. 

Nehru Arts and Science College admission to students in its BCom courses are made based on the merit in Class 12. In order to be eligible, a candidate must have passed Class 12 and obtained an HSC certificate is eligible to apply. The admission committee of NASC also prescribes upper age limit for admissions, which is 21 years as of July 1 of the admission year. However, the college provides relaxation on this limit in case of excellent meritorious students. NASC also offers upto five years of age relaxation for physically challenged applicants.

The core subjects under BCom at Nehru Arts and college aims to make students understand the basic Concepts and Conventions of finance and economics, and provide basic knowledge to the student about the organisation and management of a business enterprise. Some of the core subjects include Financial Accounting, Banking Theory Law and Practice, Business Research Methods Entrepreneurial Development, Principles of Auditing, Computerized Accounting Practical, etc.

BCom at Nehru Arts and College is a three years course with five different specialisations. The fee for the course lies in the range of INR 24,000-INR 90,000 annually, depending on the specialisation. The above mentioned fees is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is, however, subject to changes and hence, is indicative.

The placement record of Nehru Arts and Science College is good. The institution helps students become industry-ready, provides career counselling, and provide them the best possible experience by placing them in businesses of their choice. Businesses that visit the campus include Amazon, Wipro, TCS, and Capgemini. The average salary package offered was about INR 4 LPA. With over 95% of its students placed in various companies, the college has a good placement rate. During the placement process, organizations are invited, individuals are shortlisted, and recruiting drives are facilitated.

NASC BSc Ranking 2024 are not available. However, in 2023, Nehru Arts and Science College ranked #20 among ‘India Today Ranked Colleges in Tamil Nadu in 2023’ under the ‘Science’ category.
