NIT Coimbatore Admission 2025: Eligibility, Selection Process, Fee & Dates

NIT Coimbatore is an autonomous institution providing UG, PG, and doctoral programmes in Engineering, Technology, and Management. Under UG, it offers BE and BTech courses through Class 12 merit subsequent to TNEA Counselling. For PG courses such as ME and MBA, admission is through valid TANCET scores in the relevant stream. NIT Coimbatore also provides a PhD programme in Computer Science Engineering on the basis of merit.

For seeking admission to the courses offered at NIT Coimbatore, candidates need to visit the official website of the institute to register themselves in online mode. Once the application form is filled and submitted, the candidates will get a call on their registered mobile number for further shortlisting process details. The institute does not charge any application fee for seeking admission to any of its courses. The step-by-step process to fill NIT Coimbatore application form is listed below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NIT Coimbatore (www. nehrucolleges.net). On its homepage, click on ‘Apply Online’. An admission google form opens up.

Step 2: Fill the application form by addressing details, including your course specifications, name, mobile number, email ID, address of communication, past academic qualifications, etc.

Step 3: Once the application form is completely filled and reviewed, click on ‘Submit’ button.

Shortlisted candidates need to submit original copies of below-mentioned documents on the day of admission:

• Nativity proof
• Community certificate (in case of SC/ ST candidates)
• Non-creamy layer certificate
• Age proof certificate/ Birth certificate
• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheet
• UG mark sheets (if applicable)
• PG mark sheets (if applicable)
• Certificate from the medical board (in case of PwD candidates)

NIT Coimbatore scholarships are merit-based. It conducts Nehru Vigyan Scholarships Test (NVST) under the patronage of Nehru Group of Institutions to award meritorious students with scholarships. The exam is conducted in online mode and carries questions on subjects, including English, Mathematics and Sports.

• Students, with 90 per cent aggregate in the test, receive 75 per cent fee waivers on the tuition fee
• Similarly, the students, with 80 and 70 per cent, receive a 20 and 10 per cent fee waivers on the tuition fee, respectively

To enrol for NVST, candidates need to follow the steps:

1. Visit the official information portal of NGI (nehrucolleges.info). On its homepage, click on ‘Scholarships Update’
2. The official NVST portal opens up. Read the scholarship guidelines and eligibility criteria in detail
3. Fill the application form by addressing details, including your name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, guardian details, qualification specifications, etc.
4. Hit ‘Submit’ once done. The scholarship test details will be sent to your registered email ID. Download the admit card and take a print out of the same
