NIT Delhi offers scholarships to various course students as financial assistance. All fee waivers are as per Government of India norms. Students must submit Annual Family Income Certificate issued by competent authority at the time of admission to avail remission. The fee structure is valid for availing Bank Loan / Scholarship. The below-mentioned table reflects on the scholarships provided by the National Institute of Technology Delhi:
1. Full Tuition Fee Waiver for SC / ST / PwD Category
This is for all students belonging to SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities categories. Eligibility is valid caste / disability certificate. The benefit is 100% tuition fee waiver. Students pay only institute fees, annual fees and one-time fees. For 2026-27, tuition fee of Rs. 62,500 is fully exempted. Day scholar total fee for this category is Rs. 51,700 for 1st semester.
2. Full Tuition Fee Waiver for Income Below Rs. 1 Lakh
This is for General, OBC-NCL and EWS categories whose family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum. Eligibility is income certificate below 1 Lakh. The benefit is 100% tuition fee waiver. Tuition fee becomes Rs. 0 instead of Rs. 62,500. Day scholar total fee is Rs. 51,700 and hosteller with non-AC room is Rs. 91,700.
3. Two-Third Tuition Fee Remission for Income Rs. 1 Lakh to 5 Lakhs
This is for General, OBC-NCL and EWS categories whose family income is between Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakhs per annum. Eligibility is income certificate in that slab. The benefit is 2/3rd tuition fee waiver. Students pay only Rs. 20,833 instead of Rs. 62,500. Day scholar total fee is Rs. 72,533 and hosteller with non-AC room is Rs. 1,12,533.
4. Regular Fee for Income Above Rs. 5 Lakhs
This is for General, OBC-NCL and EWS categories whose family income is above Rs. 5 Lakhs. Eligibility is income above 5 Lakhs. Tuition fee is Rs. 62,500 per semester. Day scholar total fee is Rs. 1,14,200 and hosteller with non-AC room is Rs. 1,54,200 for 1st semester.
5. National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and Government Schemes
NIT Delhi has a dedicated Scholarship Cell that assists students. It facilitates scholarships offered by government agencies and external organizations. Schemes include Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Ishan Uday Scholarship and SC/ST/Minority scholarships via NSP. Students are given notification and verification support. Education loans are available via SBI and Canara Bank with competitive interest rates.
6. No Scholarship for Self-Financed MTech/ MCA
As per official admission notices, there shall be no financial assistance / scholarship / stipend for MTech Self-Financed (SFS) and MCA Self-Financed programs. Even if student qualifies GATE later, no scholarship will be granted. This is mentioned in the information brochure available on http://nitdelhi.ac.in.
