Engineering at its best with fun and a beach to relax and chill.
Placements: The placements for the seniors batch in EEE branch was around 85%. The type of the role offered by the visiting companies can be divided into five types - 1.Developer engineer in core comapnies. 2.Tech analysts 3.In education sector i.e mainly in coaching hubs and colleges. 4.GET graduate engineer trainee in PSU and others. 5.Software developer. The companies which came to visit the campus included Qualcomm, Nvidia, San Disk, IOCL, ZS Associates, Tradence Analytics, Samsung, Oracle, TIME, BPCL, BEL, HPCL, etc. The CTC package varied from 22 lakhs to 4.5 lakhs. The average was around 6.5 lakhs per annum. Internships opportunities are substantial. There is an MOU between Kumamoto University, Japan, and our college, through which you can grab the opportunity to visit Japan and build your MS careers if you are interested in research and higher studies. Industrial training chances are ample in the college. IISC is also nearby and you can apply for research from the college.
Infrastructure: The college provides all sorts of basic amenities to the students. The campus is fully residential with 12 hostels for the students to reside. The facilities in the classroom are good. Most of the classrooms are equipped with projectors and other necessary stuff. Wi-Fi is enabled throughout the campus which you can use 24/7 with login and password provided to every student. The classrooms are well-maintained. There is HCC where you can go for minor health related issues. Sports facilities are okay with a huge ground for cricket, football, athletics and what not. For hostels given to freshmen, first-years don't get a single room. You will be allotted 1st and 2nd blocks which are triple-sharing. You can also be allotted the 7th block if you join late and that will be twin-sharing. First years don't get a single room.
Faculty: The senior faculty in all the departments are top-notch. Most of them are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Almost 90% of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders from top-notch institutes. For industrial exposure, there is a mandatory industrial training course which accounts for the credits in your academics. All the students in core branches have to undergo industrial training in their course completion. There are ample of practical courses to make you well aware of the industry. Overall, the academics is favourable and in accordance with the latest requirements. The books and the courses taught are enough to make you aware of the branch and knowledge required for its application in real life.
Other: The college has its own beach. You meet various people in the first two weeks of joining. You start adapting and settling down. Then you start learning. Learning about the various people, their culture, and their habits. Finally, you start making friends. Once you have a peer group to call your own, you are all ready to kick start your journey. It's going to be a great fun. However, remember not to neglect your academics, and know our institute's vision and mission to compliment your goals and mottos.

Other: At first, I was very confused that where should I get admission and which is the best one. Then my uncle suggested this awesome place, NITK. I will say that it has very good academics as the courses are always revised according to the need of industry. The best co-operative faculty is always there to help you. To be safe, you have to at least achieve a 6 pointer. It has all the facilities needed. The 4 years passed just like yesterday. I will always remember those precious moments of life. So just close your eyes and go for it.
