NMIT Bangalore MCA Eligibility and Highlights 2026

MCA is a two-year course divided into four semesters. NMIT Bangalore provides admission to MCA courses based on entrance exam scores.

Admission to MCA is offered under Management and PGCET Quota. For the MCA course, 50% of the total student intake will be filled through Karnataka PGCET and the rest 50% is filled through KMAT/ Karnataka PGCET (Management Quota). Admissions to PG Management Category will be through a first-come-first-serve basis provided the student meets the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned in the website. Selection criteria: Karnataka PGCET, KMAT/ Karnataka PGCET (for admission through Management Quota)

Eligibility: A pass in BCA or Bachelor's in Computer Science Engineering or BSc/ BA/ BCom with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for Karnataka belonging to SC/ ST and Category-1) is required to apply for the MCA course.

Note: AICTE has approved 15% additional seats for foreign nationals/ PIO/ NRI/ students whose parents work in Gulf countries.

Q: Which entrance exam is accepted by NMIT Bangalore?

Yes, NITTE Meenakshi conducts NUCAT for admission to UG and PG courses. Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) is conducted in online mode for 120 minutes. Candidates seeking admission in BTech, MTech, MBA, MCA or BSc (Hons) courses at NMIT Bangalore must have a score in NUCAT. The institute also offers admission in few BTech seats based on JEE Main score. Aspirants need to participate in counselling and seat allotment with their rank for final admission.

Q: Can I get admission under tuition fee waiver category at NMIT Bangalore based on Class 12 marks?

Candidates must score at least 90% aggregate in PCM in Class 12 in first attempt and have NUCAT score of more than 65 to get seat under tuition fee waiver category at NMIT Bangalore. Students must also have annual family income less than INR 8 Lacs for admission under this category.

Q: Is JEE Main accepted at NMIT Bangalore?

It is the best college for students.

Placements: Placements were good. Many companies visited our college for recruitment. Top recruiting companies were Microsoft, Infosys, and Infotech. The average salary package offered was 19 LPA.

Infrastructure: Hostel rooms were very good. Double occupancy rooms were available. The food served in the canteen was good.

Faculty: Teachers were very good. The teaching quality was great for us to understand every topic easily. Semester exams were easy.

Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it. It was a very good course.

One the best colleges of my life .

Placements: The placement of our college is good. Many MNCs companies visited our college like TCS, Microsoft, Infotech etc. As many students get good job in these company, the maximum package offered by the company is INR 12 Lacs per annum. Nearly 80 percent of the students get selected .

Infrastructure: The rooms are good as it looks a like a hotel room. The facility of the room is good and the fee is also affordable. The registration is at the time of admission in college. The canteen facility is also there and the food of the canteen is good and tasty and the menu changes daily .

Faculty: The course of MCA is very good as I like computers so I chose this field. If I talk about the teachers of our college, they are very friendly with us and knowledgeable and the method of teaching is very good. The exams are conducted in every semester on time .

The hostel facilities of this college are superb.

Placements: In the last year, we start having placements (3rd sem). Many companies came and offered 1000 students so far today and many more companies are to come. The highest package is 20 LPA and the average is 6 LPA. Profiles are like a full stack, cloud Engineer, software tester etc.75% of students get placements. On the left few have backlogs. After completing my degree ill joint it organisation and start my career.

Infrastructure: Hostels are there for both boys and girls with good facilities like 3 in each room and good Wi-Fi speed, hot water to bath meals are unlimited in the mess and the menu changes every day. Registration can be done in the college itself. I'm staying in the college hostel only.

Faculty: I wanted to pursue a master's in computer Application so I choose MCA. Some faculty members are supportive but few do not as partiality happens sometimes. All faculty members are PhD holders and the teaching method is also a good few teachers use the blackboard to explain and few use a PPT to explain each module. As every month we do have internal exams. There are 3 exams followed by final exams. If we have studied and scored good marks internally then clearing the final exam is easy. Class size:-70 Course fees:-INR 200000 per year.

Our college is a combination of learning, fun and industry-ready.

Placements: All eligible MCA graduates can apply and attend placement drives in all tier 1 firms, and even they recruit graduates from CS and IS streams. The salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA to above 10 LPA. Top recruiters here were Infosys, Accenture, IBM and Mindtree. About 50% of eligible students were offered internships based on their performance. Top roles offered here were system engineer, business analyst, test engineer and web developer.

Infrastructure: The department of MCA has great facilities to ensure all students get the best learning experience. Emphasis is given to both curricular and co-curricular activities. The department supports and encourages active participation in intra and intercollegiate events. Labs are well-equipped to meet the course demands. There are spacious classrooms with facilities to present digital content, which is a great addition.

Faculty: The faculty members here seem to take great pride in what they do. They provide a strong theoretical basic knowledge, along with preparation and skills necessary for the future and academic work, which is the only thing any student pursuing their master's degree wants. It is imparted with great attention here. The course is structured to keep you updated with the latest trends in the industry.

I am absolutely dissatisfied because of MCA department faculty and placements.

Placements: Placements in nitte menakshi institution for MCA department is not up to the mark. We were not given any placements training. No reputed companies were called for placements. They were just informing us for pool campus in other colleges. According to me, it's below average for placements.

Infrastructure: Nitte Menakshi Institute of technology infrastructure is good its covered in a average area compared to other colleges in Bengaluru. And the bad thing about this college is they take extra charges for the vehicle parking despite of taking 31000 thousand fee from us per annum. Maintenance is good.

Faculty: Faculty members in MCA department below average there is no technique's in there teaching skills. Most of the faculty members in MCA department are not at all experienced. My major concern is about Hod of MCA department he never take firm decisions. Being a hod he will be like he doesn't know what is going in his department.

Other: Events and fest are done good.

On what basis BSc Hons seats are allocated in NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology?

Seats are allocated on the basis of merit scores of last qualifying exam. All candidates have to fill an application form on the official website of institute. The institute shortlists students on the basis of merit scores. Selected students have to pay some fee to confirm their admissions.

Is there any practical training in the BSc (H) CAPT course at NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology?

Yes, there is a practical training. It is a part of third year curriculum of the course. The training includes 230 hours Flight Training, 200 hours on Aircraft and 30 hours on Approved Flight Simulator. Other than this, some major subjects in the course are Air Regulation, Navigation, Jet Oriented
