MBA in Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship (MBA-WMSE) - Batch of 2024

This college is the best for placements.
Placements: **Placements:** I belong to the 2024 passed-out batch of MBA - WM & SE. 90% of students were placed in my course. The highest package was 11 LPA, the lowest was 6 LPA, and the average was 7 - 8 PA. Top recruiting companies are Hexaware, ICICI Bank, HCL, SBI MF, LI, HDFC, etc. Around 80% of students got internships with the help of the placement cell. Top roles offered are Business Analyst, Deputy Manager, Management Trainee, etc.
Infrastructure: For the MBA - WM & SE course, we had facilities like energy labs, a library with extensive books, free Wi-Fi, digitally enabled classrooms, waste analysis labs, and we also had sustainable & eco-friendly industrial visits and internships. Facilities like the hostel, quality of food, medical facilities, sports, and games are good enough.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and specialists in their domain. Our MBA - WM & SE course is designed to provide practical knowledge about waste management practices and implementing sustainable practices in organisations. The pass percentage is 50.
Other: One of the main reasons to choose MBA - WM & SE at PSG IM is to explore more about sustainability management & ESG, as I’m a sustainability enthusiast. PSG IM is known for its leadership-building events and fests like Week of Wonders, Best Managers, Week of Games, etc.

Good campus life and placements.
Placements: 98 percent of students get placed at an average of 7.6 LPA which goes up to 14LPA by the top recruiters. We have good companies that come in for recruitment like Deloitte PWC HCL TCS ICICI etc. Students start getting placed as soon as the 2nd year of MBA starts.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and fit for the purpose. The academic space supports learning well and the hostel and mess facilities are comfortable and safe perhaps not lavish. If you value convenience safety and a decent range of amenities like Wi-Fi Library Labs for each domain and sports When the college delivers.
Faculty: The faculty members here are very approachable and the curriculum stays aligned with the industry expectations across the domains - Marketing HR Finance and Decision Science Operations and Analytics. We also get practical exposure alongside theory. Most of the sessions are more like a discussion rather than a one way lecture. The exams are not a cakewalk. They are fairly challenging which keeps the learning serious. I think with consistent effort clearing them is not a problem. The campus life is so good with multiple management and student run events and fests both fun and managerial.

Overall great experience.
Placements: Placements have been good and are only improving year on year. The average CTC has also seen a good hike compared to its previous years which allows students to find their cup of tea as almost all companies from all the sectors visit campus such as IT FMCG Banking Automobile Manufacturing. Opportunities are good and initially the majority of the students have been placed.
Infrastructure: The courses are well planned and are good. The course plan has a smooth flow and makes a seamless transition to make the students industry ready. I have myself been a hosteller last year and the facility is good with well ventilated secure and hygienic rooms. Hostel food is also good.
Faculty: We have a lot of experienced faculty who share valuable knowledge and insights about our papers. They provide us with more than theoretical knowledge they make us industry ready. A lot of class activities and experiential learning are inculcated in the programme. Classes are fun and faculty are always supportive.

Satisfied with the faculty and facilities of this college.
Placements: PSG Institute provides decent placements and internship opportunities to its MBA course students. Approximately 40-45% of the MBA students get placements at this college. The average package offered in our course was between 3-6 LPA. Top recruiters for our course were TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte, etc. Top roles offered for the course included HR, finance advisory, consultant, associate, etc.
Infrastructure: PSG Institute of Management has decent infrastructure for the MBA course. The college campus has Wi-Fi connectivity for both students and teachers. Labs and the library are available for better learning. Sports facilities are also provided to the students. The quality of these facilities is good.
Faculty: The faculty of the college was helpful and supportive to the students in our course. All the teachers were qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching was also good. The course curriculum of the college was relevant, and made the students industry-ready. Semester exams were not that hard to pass.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2022

One of the best B-Schools for a management course.
Placements: I am from the 2020-2022 batch. Even in the pandemic situation, more than 87% of students got placed during the year 2019-2020. The highest package offered is 12 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are HDFC, BYJU's, ICICI Securities, Deloitte and others. The top roles offered are finance and marketing executives. All the students in our secured an internship.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good infrastructure and facilities, with library and lab access provided to all the students of the department. I am currently having my online classes and have not experienced campus life. However, from what I have heard from the seniors, it is totally worth having campus life in our college. The hostel rules are a bit strict, is what I have heard from my seniors.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful. They are very well-qualified and help the students to understand the application of subjects in real life, which the students sometimes fail to notice. The course curriculum is relevant and gets reviewed after every few years. It helps the students gain practical knowledge required needed for the working of a business and prepares the students to face difficult situations with an optimistic mind.

Review of PSG Institute of Management.
Placements: My seniors who are graduated before 2018 have told me that the placements are good. I am not sure of the placements of our batch, considering the current pandemic situation. There are adequate placement opportunities for our batch. It has been said that almost all students get placed, and except for the ones who did not opt for placements.
Infrastructure: Our college provides well-equipped classrooms surrounded by trees, which makes the place a delight to be in. Though the building is situated right next to the Avinashi, so the sounds entering the classrooms are minimal. The airy rooms make it better for the students to indulge in the learning experience. I have not visited the hostel facility.
Faculty: Every single faculty member in our college is very much knowledgeable and well-informed. Most of the faculty members are PhD holders, and the rest are currently pursuing their PhD. They have unique teaching methods, and learning will be very easy as long as we are engaged with the classes. I have attending only online classes due to the pandemic. I am not sure how the physical exams will be, and I heard it is usually difficult but manageable. Almost the same with online exams as well, and nothing is difficult if you know how to crack it.
Other: I have chosen this course because of a recent plan, and I just want to develop my career with an MBA as an add-on. As most managerial jobs require a full-time MBA, this course will surely be a valuable addition to develop one's career. Our college organises more events, considering my UG college. This college hardly has 50% of the events we used to have in UG. Events are fun, I assume, as I have not attended any real events due to the pandemic. There are not many online events as well.

PSG Institute of Management Admission 2026 FAQs

Q:   Can I get direct admission at PSG Institute of Management if my score in TANCET is 70?
A:

Yes, PSGIM accepts all three TANCET, MAT, CAT and AIMA scores for admission. TANCET is alone based on a government quota. Based on the TANCET scores, you have to separately apply for counselling and only if you get PSG in counselling, you can join in PSGIM.

For counseling you need to arrange your preference very smartly so that if you have scored less in the entrance then also you could get a good college because most of the time getting a good college also depends on the type of preference list you prefer or the arrangement of colleges you have made.

A:

A student can enroll to the institute through CAT, but it is not a criteria by virtue of which is extremely not mandatory for admission. If a person wants to go through this, he/she must have appeared and excelled with the stipulated cut off in either of the exams which are MAT, CAT, TANCET and ATMA. So even if you have not appeared for CAT, you should not be disheartened as there are other ways to enroll. Hope the information helps!
