Q: What are the admission criteria for BTech and MTech in PSGCT?

A:

For admission to BTech at PSGCT, candidates must have passed in Class 12 from a recognized board with a minimum 45% aggregate. Admissions in the college are offered on the basis of a valid TNEA or (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) score followed by counselling.

For MTech, selections are done on the basis of TANCET or GATE but the first preference is given to GATE score. The candidate must have a degree of BTech/BE in a relevant specialization from a recognized board for admission in a MTech programme.

Q: What is the MTech course structure at PSGCT?

A:

ME/ M.Tech programme at PSGCT is offered across various specialisations, namely Applied Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, among others. For all specialisations available under PSG College of Technology MTech programme. MTech admission at PSG College of Technology is subject to a valid score in one among GATE/TANCET exam. Overall best College for M.E. In the embedded and real time systems course.

Placements: Almost all students were placed in our courses. The highest salary is 12 LPA to 15 LPA, which was the minimum. 90% of students received their internships. The top recruiters were Intel, Qualcomm, Robert Bosch, Texas Instruments, etc. The top roles offered were Embedded Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer, and more.

Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi system was awesome. Classrooms were good. The campus was awesome and clean. The campus had specially designed sports courts for basketball, volleyball, etc. The college system here was amazing, as here things are amazing, which helps us a lot. The college ensures cleanliness, and students also ensure that they do not have any problems inside the college.

Faculty: Teachers behave like friends, viewing our issues as their own and striving to provide the best solutions. I can claim the top instructors in college. They possess extensive knowledge and experience. In our curriculum, educators approach students based on professional expectations and promote proper behavior. Final exams were simple, and the passing rate was approximately 72%.

Review of M.Tech in biotechnology at PSGCT.

Placements: In 2024 placements, nearly 89 percent of students got placed in drives. Our placement offices really work hard to get us placed in good companies with good salary packages. They often arrange placement training and skill development training to enhance our skills.

Infrastructure: Our laboratories are well maintained with newly imported systems. They are well maintained by the technician and serviced once a month. Specific dishes are to be cooked on specific days. The hostel facilities made us feel like our own home. And there is a large sports field on our campus.

Faculty: PSG stands for excellence in academic standards. The teachers were highly knowledgeable in their subjects. As they are producing rank holders yearly. And they were more concerned about completing portions on time. Also in the previous year, they gave good academic results.

Placements: Our college stands for it's excellence in academic and placement standards. As a result, a lot of students got placed in good companies. The top recruiting companies in our college are TCS, Accenture, Infosys, HCL and so on. The highest package offered by recruiters will be 18 lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: PSG College of Technology supports various courses in various streams. It stands for it's excellence in infrastructure. The overall facilities available at our college were really nice. The students were asked to focus on their interests in sports. And it was a healthy environment.

Faculty: All our teachers were supportive and helpful. They prefer to take practical-oriented sessions, which helps in a better understanding of the concepts. They clarify all the doubts without any hesitation. They were highly helpful during practical and theoretical exams.

Placements: Excellent placement rate and more opportunities are there in M.Tech. The highest package was 45 LPA, the lowest package was 5 LPA, and the average package was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies for this course are Amazon, NXP, JP Morgan, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, and Infosys.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well maintained. The surroundings of the college are clean. Transportation facilities are available for local members only through buses. The college is near the bus stop and auto stand. Permission is mandatory for leave. The canteen is good.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. Their teaching level is awesome. Providing additional practical learning like problem-solving techniques. Helps in building projects for the final year. Course curriculum is relevant and it makes students ready for the industry. Pass percentage is above 60%.

Absolutely satisfied with placements and campus facilities.

Placements: Mostly 70 percent of students get job in every year. The highest salary package is 15l Lacs per annum. The average salary package is 6to 9 Lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Infosys, Microsoft, Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, IBM#, Cisco etc. Mostly 40 to 50 percent students get internships in various companies. Some students get their full time internships in the final semester and some students do their part time internships in various companies. The top roles offered are Trainee, HR, Manager, Team leader etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are so good. There is Wi-Fi everywhere. The labs having high facilities and are fully equipped with apparatus required. The classrooms are good and some times smart classes are conducted. There is well stocked library with lot of books and journals. The hostel facilities are good. But the fee structure of the hostel is slightly high. The quality of food in canteen is acceptable and there is variety of foods are available with affordable price. The medical facilities are good. The college gives importance to the sports and games. There is more facilities for sports and games.

Faculty: The teachers are highly educated and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good but not best. Most of the teachers strictly sticked to the books. But some best teachers are there and they do more practical sessions. The curriculum is relevant to the industry and that makes the students ready for that. The semester exams are slightly hard. But one week before studying the subjects leads to get pass. The minimum pass percentage is 40 percent.

Other: I chose this course because I taken ECE in my UG. The best thing is facilities of this course and placements. The teachers have to improve their teaching method and try to give practical knowledge to the students. The events are often conducted. The cultural event is conducted once per year. The college calendar for events having busy schedule and 3 to 5 events happened per month. The college campus is so good and enjoyable. The college provide many scholarships namely, First graduate scholarship, Minority scholarship etc. There is lot of clubs and extra curricular activities for the students.

I'm highly satisfied with what they offered like placements, hostel, laboratory facilities, etc.

Placements: All admissions allocated for our course are filled based on counselling. About 2 to 3 students in our batch joined through the management quota. The highest salary package offered was 30 LPA and the average salary package offered was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies Cisco, Goldman Sachs and Amazon. Almost 90% of the students who opted for placements got placed.

Infrastructure: Our college provides a strong internet facility (LAN) in labs. For the Wi-Fi facility, students have to be registered in the office. There is a separate block for the library, and there are more than 10,000 books in it. The food served in the hostel is good, and they provide you with healthy meals. There is a common ground for games inside the hostel which can be utilised by both UG and PG students.

Faculty: Teachers play an important role in the development and standard of PSG. They are highly knowledgeable, trained and helpful. They help us in clearing our doubts then and there. The course is relevant to the curriculum. We do many projects related to our course, which helps us to be industry-ready.

Other: As I wanted to be a software engineer, I opted for this course, and also I wanted to continue with my research field. The best thing about our course is we get plenty of job opportunities in the IT and research field.

Can I join PSG College without entrance exam?

PSG College offers admission to courses based on merit or entrance exam scores of the candidates. Admission to BSc and MSc programmes does not require passing an entrance test. Aspirants need to pass Class 12 followed by TNEA Counselling for BTech. For all other courses, admission is entrance-based.

College provides facilities like Wi-Fi, smart classrooms with projectors, air-conditioned labs, and a spacious library.

The food quality of the canteen is good and we all know the quality of food in hostel mess, good enough to survive ( except for the monthly feast).
