SLIET honest review 2026.

Placements: Our current placement is better than previous years, the highest package for on campus is somewhat around 8.5–12.5 LPA in Computer Science and other branches also. But this year we got one of our seniors secured job in Google with a CTC around 55 LPA. Companies include Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and other local startups.

Infrastructure: Hostel is good. In 1st and 2nd year we have 3 people in one room, but if you are in top 10 percent of batch, then in 3rd year you get a single seater room; otherwise, every student gets a single room in 4th year. Hostel fee is 10,000 per semester which is affordable. Mess is separate but inside hostel. It costs around 3,000 per month. Food is okay, sometimes good, sometimes average. Overall facilities are fine, not too high level but manageable. We also have good labs for our course with proper systems for practical's.

Faculty: The faculty for our courses are good. Most of them have Ph.D. from IIT. The course curriculum is almost the same as other universities. We also have some new branches this year like AI, Cybersecurity. The semester exams are held inside the university so questions are not very difficult. Academic pressure is not very high, which gives us time to work on our skills.

Other: I am a CSE student from 2023 batch. Honestly, I didn’t choose this field by choice, based on my rank, this was the best field and college I could get, so I joined it. We have many scholarship opportunities like Mahindra Scholarship, Siemens Scholarship (selected students for full 4 years), Reliance Scholarship, and also government NSP Scholarship. I did not apply for any scholarship; many students get benefit from it.

Overall, it is the best college for our JEE score. We get decent placements and have a good life.

Placements: Currently I pursue my bachalor's in mechanical engineering from SLIET Longowal. According to last year, about 90% of students are placed from my branch in different companies. In 2025, the highest package of CSE is 55 LPA by Google and others are also placed well.

Infrastructure: SLIET Longowal has the best infrastructure in GFTIs with good library, many smart classes, well-equipped labs and workshops, a big size swimming pool, student activity center (gym, tycando, sketching, etc). It has a big size playground (badminton court, football court, volleyball, etc).

Faculty: Professors are good except for the guest faculty. They show a very helpful nature. In this college, 75% attendance is required, and exams are decent (not very tough). If we study atleast 1 hour per day then we can easily score 8 CGPA and have much time for other things.

Other: The best B.E. branch in SLIET is mechanical engineering.

College is good and affordable and it improved its ranking from 176 to 79.

Placements: Regarding placement its good with many companies often visiting this institute. They also offer a variety of packages from as low as 4 LPA to 12 LPA in Mechanical engineering. There is not much academic pressure you can also focus on extracurricular activities.

Infrastructure: Some hostels are well maintained but a few are not up to standard. BH 6 and BH 5 are not that good. The remaining hostels are good and up to date. Students of different branches are kept separately. CSE and Mechanical branch students are in BH6 while ECE students are kept in BH9. Mess food is good and it costs 3000 per month.

Faculty: Faculty are good and the course curriculum is relevant. Assignments are given with proper guidance. Regular tests are also conducted. Practicals are also held to gain hands on experience. Semester exams are easy to moderate depending on the subject. Good and regular study you can get good grades like 10 CGPA.

Other: College is far from the main city Sangrur. The nearest city is Longowal 2 km.

Placements: The highest package is 18 LPA, and the lowest is 7 LPA. This college is really very good. Many companies visit our college like Tech Mahindra and Infosys. All the companies are very good, and my teachers are very good.

Infrastructure: Classes are very good, and all the bad branches are good. AC is also available in my class. We have camera, AC facilities, and also a large ground for boys. Projectors are also available for our study.

Faculty: Teachers are very good and also suggest to you how to read the books. Teachers have encouraged you to always study. They have an extra class for those who fail. Teachers also provide 3 hours extra classes for students who fail in their subject. Teachers are very good and they consult and solve your problem immediately.

Other: I chose this course because it is very attractive and they are going to apply knowledge to English to my performance in the other subjects.

Placements: So, from my batch, 80% students got placement. The highest package offered was 27 LPA, the lowest package offered was 3.5 LPA, and the average package was around 4-5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, DEE, Sonalika, Kandhari Beverages Ltd., ISGEC, Jindal, TCS, Mahindra, etc. The top roles offered were GET.

Infrastructure: Department infrastructure is the best. If you want to do research work or anything, there are plenty of resources available. The library is the best, all course-related stuff and other literature are easily available, and we have an e-library option. The hostel facility is good, but the mess is managed through a third-party contact, so the food quality is bad.

Faculty: Teachers are the best in their field. If you're truly willing to grow, they will eventually help you grow. Course curriculum is relevant, but it has to be changed my modern world requirements. Semester examinations are easy. Almost every student passes, but exceptions are everywhere.

Other: I'm a 2025 passout from the mechanical department. My reason for choosing this course was my love for automobile machines. The things I want to improve are firstly that the course should change immediately with aligned to modern world requirements and new technologies. Second, the teacher and student relations should be good, and research work should be promoted. Plenty of extracurricular activities are held, like Tech fest, Cultural fest, Science day, etc.

I'm absolutely amazing because of all the facilities, low fees, good placement, and great faculty.

Placements: The percentage of students who are placed is about 60%. The highest package is 25 LPA, and the lowest is about 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TVS Motors, Mahindra, and Infosys. The percentage of getting an internship is about 80-85%. All the companies have given good reviews about the college students.

Infrastructure: There are all types of facilities available, like digital libraries, a hostel, a sports complex, and grounds. There are different blocks, 12 different hotels, AC classrooms, etc. There is a volleyball court, 2 basketball courts, 1 cricket ground, 1 football ground, and 2 tennis grounds. There is a library and 1 study center.

Faculty: The faculty members are GATE-qualified. All the teachers are too good and supportive. They all have good experience in teaching. Semester exams are not that hard, they are easy, and the teacher also helps you with the preparation. The course curriculum is too good, and you have enough time to prepare.

Other: The reason I chose this course is that I want to be a mechanical engineer. The good thing about this is that the jobs are highly available for this branch.
