Placements: The placement in our course is extremely good. The highest package offered in our course is 12 LPA by JSW. The average package is about 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are JSW, Infosys, Larsen & Turbo, Mahindra, etc. An internship is mandatory, so all students got internships from different companies.
Infrastructure: The college has separate blocks for different departments. It also has a library and a separate study centre open 24 hours. Smart classrooms and Wi-Fi facilities are available. The hostel is average, all essential facilities are available, but the condition is not too good. Mess food is just sufficient to survive. A health centre is available on the college campus. The stadium and sports complex are also available.
Faculty: The faculty is very kind. 75 percent attendance is mandatory, but most teachers are not very strict. The course curriculum is relevant. Various workshops and seminars are organised by the college to become industry-ready. The semester exam is moderate. Teachers guide us very well.

A very good environment for student to study.
Placements: About 96 students out of 130 were placed in the previous year from the mechanical branch. The highest package was 8.2 LPA, the average was 4.6 LPA, and the lowest was 3.35 LPA. Top companies are Tata, Mahindra, Infosys, and Cognizant. The rest all got internships.
Infrastructure: All classes have their own smart boards, meaning smart classes with facilities like AC, fan, light, and Wi-Fi. About the hostel, there are 10 boys' hostels and 4 girls' hostels, and all have good facilities, including mess facilities that provide better food than other colleges or universities.
Faculty: All our faculty members are very helpful to the students, with some exceptions, and very polite as well. The teaching experience of the professors is around 30-35 years. All the teachers are well-qualified from IIT or NIT.
Other: I chose this field because my parents want me to be an engineer, and I specially want to become an engineer. So I chose the engineering line.

One of the best infrastructure, too much greenery.
Placements: More than 80% of students got placed in my branch. In mechanical, the maximum package was around 10 LPA, and the minimum was 2.8 LPA, with an average of around 4 LPA. L&T, Cheema Boilers, etc., were recruiting companies. Most of the students who wanted to go for internships got internships.
Infrastructure: Facilities are top-notch, almost similar to top NITs. Classrooms and labs were very well maintained. The library is very good, but the best part is the study center, which is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, having both AC rooms and non-AC rooms. The food was below average, but Sliet Restaurant provides tasty food that's inside the college.
Faculty: Faculty members are among the best in India, and many have teaching experience from IITs and NITs. As it's a central government college, there's teacher exchange with IITs and NITs, so there's no doubt about their knowledge and teaching quality. Semester exams were not too hard. They are of moderate level, so it's not a big deal to pass the exams.
Other: Everything is good. Events and fests don't happen too much. The crowd is not so good, but the connectivity is poor. The campus is very beautiful.

Overall, it is the best college for our JEE score. We get decent placements and have a good life.
Placements: Currently I pursue my bachalor's in mechanical engineering from SLIET Longowal. According to last year, about 90% of students are placed from my branch in different companies. In 2025, the highest package of CSE is 55 LPA by Google and others are also placed well.
Infrastructure: SLIET Longowal has the best infrastructure in GFTIs with good library, many smart classes, well-equipped labs and workshops, a big size swimming pool, student activity center (gym, tycando, sketching, etc). It has a big size playground (badminton court, football court, volleyball, etc).
Faculty: Professors are good except for the guest faculty. They show a very helpful nature. In this college, 75% attendance is required, and exams are decent (not very tough). If we study atleast 1 hour per day then we can easily score 8 CGPA and have much time for other things.
Other: The best B.E. branch in SLIET is mechanical engineering.

College is good and affordable and it improved its ranking from 176 to 79.
Placements: Regarding placement its good with many companies often visiting this institute. They also offer a variety of packages from as low as 4 LPA to 12 LPA in Mechanical engineering. There is not much academic pressure you can also focus on extracurricular activities.
Infrastructure: Some hostels are well maintained but a few are not up to standard. BH 6 and BH 5 are not that good. The remaining hostels are good and up to date. Students of different branches are kept separately. CSE and Mechanical branch students are in BH6 while ECE students are kept in BH9. Mess food is good and it costs 3000 per month.
Faculty: Faculty are good and the course curriculum is relevant. Assignments are given with proper guidance. Regular tests are also conducted. Practicals are also held to gain hands on experience. Semester exams are easy to moderate depending on the subject. Good and regular study you can get good grades like 10 CGPA.
Other: College is far from the main city Sangrur. The nearest city is Longowal 2 km.

Modern-day gurukul, fully green campus, good vibes, average package.
Placements: So, from my batch, 80% students got placement. The highest package offered was 27 LPA, the lowest package offered was 3.5 LPA, and the average package was around 4-5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, DEE, Sonalika, Kandhari Beverages Ltd., ISGEC, Jindal, TCS, Mahindra, etc. The top roles offered were GET.
Infrastructure: Department infrastructure is the best. If you want to do research work or anything, there are plenty of resources available. The library is the best, all course-related stuff and other literature are easily available, and we have an e-library option. The hostel facility is good, but the mess is managed through a third-party contact, so the food quality is bad.
Faculty: Teachers are the best in their field. If you're truly willing to grow, they will eventually help you grow. Course curriculum is relevant, but it has to be changed my modern world requirements. Semester examinations are easy. Almost every student passes, but exceptions are everywhere.
Other: I'm a 2025 passout from the mechanical department. My reason for choosing this course was my love for automobile machines. The things I want to improve are firstly that the course should change immediately with aligned to modern world requirements and new technologies. Second, the teacher and student relations should be good, and research work should be promoted. Plenty of extracurricular activities are held, like Tech fest, Cultural fest, Science day, etc.

SLIET has a lush green campus.
Placements: In the mechanical engineering department, about 80-90% of students get placed. The highest package of the mechanical department is 18 LPA. The average salary offered is 4.30 LPA. The top recruiting companies for SLIET include TCS, Wipro, L&T, and Tech Mahindra.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. Classrooms are well-organised and spacious. Library facilities are also available and open till 7 PM and on weekends, it is available till 5 PM. Wi-Fi facility is available in hostels but the limit is only 1 GB for UG students, which is very irritating.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated. Interaction between teachers and students in this college is good. Teachers are not very strict with students. Semester examinations are taken in three parts, i.e., two minor examinations and one minor or semester-end examination.

SLIET: The technical gurukul for students.
Placements: There are many companies that come to our campus for placement such as L&T, TCS, Wipro, JSw, and Deltax. For mechanical engineering, companies like Tata Motors, Goderaj Aerospace, JSw, and Tata steel come for placements. The highest package is 11 LPA till now this academic year.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi, but it is a limited connection of 1 GB per day. It is a drawback. The college has a gym, stadium, sports activities centre, health centre, and central library. The hostel is quite good and clean. There is a shopping complex where we can shop for our necessary items. Sports activities are not too much in the college.
Faculty: All teachers are supportive of students. The teaching skills are also average. The course is industry-oriented. There are two types of exams. The minor exam is held twice a semester. The major exam is an end-semester exam. They are quite easy to score. An average student can pass the exam with their other activities.
Other: There is a big problem of transportation. The college is situated in a rural area. There are only a few buses to go to the city. There can be difficulty in shopping. There is no major railway station in the city. For train boarding, we have to go to Delhi Ludhiana and Ambala.
