I agree with good infrastructure, but the course curriculum is not good and changes could be made.
Placements: About 30-40% of students are placed, even less than that. The highest package is around 1 crore, and the lowest is around 2-3 LPA. Many companies come, such as Adobe, PayPal, TCS, etc. There are many students, and the number of opportunities is very limited. In a recent case, out of 1500 students who sat for the Adobe drive, only 2 of them got selected. They come for different roles: data analyst, software engineer (mainly).
Infrastructure: The facilities provided in the course and department are good. One thing that is not good is the old lab. Some have been changed now, but some are old, where some PCs do not even work. The new labs are very good and built nicely. Hostels are not up to the mark. Initially, they will show you their best rooms and some different hostels, and then, at last, will allot you something else. We don't have ACs, and coolers barely work. We do have a cafeteria, snack shops, and many other shops from where we can get food.
Faculty: This is the part which I don't like. Just think, you are studying CSE and you have subjects like Biology, which are mandatory but not grade courses. We already have many deadlines to deal with, and they are adding more and more, which are not even matching the skills we should have. Teachers are good and helpful, but only if you are also a bit cooperative. Semester exams are not that difficult to pass.

Absolutely satisfied with the good campus life and a beautiful campus.
Placements: Approximately 95 percent of students are placed with good packages. The highest is 54 LPA, and the average is 7.5 LPA. Companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon come here for placement. Every department has its own speciality, and they offer many chances for students to perform their best in every field.
Infrastructure: CU’s campus and academic buildings are well-equipped. There are ICT-enabled classrooms and smart classrooms across buildings. Wi-Fi connectivity is campus-wide. There are cassrooms, hostels, and common areas have internet coverage. There are departmental labs for various courses, providing practical exposure to students. The library system is quite robust. The main library of CU (as well as centralised libraries across departments/blocks) is RFID-enabled, supports a book-drop station, and offers online access through MyLOFT for remote and on-campus resource access.
Faculty: The college has very helpful teachers. Students report that the teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. Faculty are highly qualified, supportive, and use practical teaching methods. For courses like CSE/BCA/CSE (AI & ML), students feel the curriculum is updated and industry-oriented, including exposure to core subjects (DSA, OOPS, etc.), hands-on labs, and practical assignments. Teaching often includes both theory and practical components, which helps students understand concepts thoroughly, not just memorise. For many, this makes them feel industry-ready, i.e., confident of applying knowledge in a real-world/IT industry setting.
Other: This course provide great future opportunities. Well-known personalities come to perform in festivals and events.

Great infrastructure but poor curriculum.
Placements: Approximately 40 percent of students get good placements above 5 LPA. Many students do not get any placements because they lack the skills that companies require. The highest placement is 38 LPA. The lowest is 3–4 LPA. Approximately 70 percent of students get internships.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, but some labs are in old buildings. They are normal, while labs in new buildings are good and fast. Wi-Fi is present in classrooms, labs, and the library. The hostel is good, but the mess food is the worst. I suggest choosing a flat if you can, rather than a PG, because PGs are worse than hostels, so choose wisely.
Faculty: Faculty in the CSE department is not good. Many teachers are unable to explain topics clearly. They just read from the PPT. The curriculum is okay but not very good, as most of the real learning still depends on self-study. Overall, the academics are manageable, but the quality of teaching definitely needs improvement.

It offers a comprehensive industry program with an industry-ready curriculum.
Placements: Over 90% of CSE students get placed in 2025, with Chandigarh University recording 9,124 job offers from 900 companies. The highest package is international 1.7 crore per annum, domestic package is 54.75 LPA offered by Palo Alto Networks, and the lowest package is 3–4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Adobe, Deloitte, and Hitachi. The percentage of students securing internships is 70–80%, with companies like PayPal and Nutanix. Top roles offered are software engineer, full-stack developer, and cybersecurity analyst.
Infrastructure: Chandigarh University CSE department offers labs, smart classrooms, 24/7 Wi-Fi, and a central library with digital resources. Hostels are modern with AC and non-AC options, hygienic meals, canteens, medical centers, dispensaries, and extensive sports facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are generally well qualified. Many holding doctorate degrees and industry experience. They are approachable, helpful, and supportive, and emphasize practical learning alongside theory. The curriculum is designed to be industry-oriented. It includes emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Semester exams in Chandigarh University are moderately challenging.

B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering - Batch of 2029

3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
A well-rounded experience with strong placements and good campus life
Placements: I am from B.Tech Mechatronics, and the placements in my course have been fairly strong. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they maintain good academics and skills. The highest packages usually cross 25 to 30 LPA from top tech companies, while the average package for our course stays around 5 to 6 LPA. The lowest offers depend on the company but usually stay above 3 LPA. Companies like Bosch, Tata, Mahindra, Cognizant, Infosys, and several automation and robotics startups visit regularly.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for engineering students is one of the strong points. Labs for electronics, robotics, mechanical machines, and programming are well-equipped and used regularly. Classrooms are fitted with projectors or smart boards, and the Wi-Fi on campus works well in most academic blocks. The library has a good range of books, digital journals, and quiet study areas. Hostel facilities are decent with options for AC and non-AC rooms. The mess food is average but hygienic, and the canteen has multiple choices. There are medical facilities, a decent gym, and a wide range of sports like cricket and football.
Faculty: Most teachers in my course are experienced and explain topics well with practical examples. They are approachable and helpful if you ask doubts after class. The curriculum is relevant because Mechatronics involves coding, electronics, mechanical concepts, and robotics, and the subjects reflect that mix quite well. Exams are held on time and are moderate in difficulty if you follow classes. Internal marks, lab work, and assignments also contribute, so the pass percentage is high for students who attend regularly. Overall, the course feels industry-oriented and useful.
Other: I chose Mechatronics because it blends electronics, mechanics, programming, and automation, which matches the direction industries are moving towards. The best parts of the course are the labs, the variety of subjects, and the exposure to both hardware and software. I wish there were even more hands-on projects built into the curriculum. The campus crowd is large, but it creates a lively environment. Events like CU Fest and Tech Invent make the atmosphere fun. Connectivity to the campus is decent, and there are many extracurricular clubs to join.

Balanced academics and campus life with scope for improvement.
Placements: In my course 85 percent students are placed. The highest package is 12 LPA the lowest is 3.5 LPA and average is 6.5 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS Infosys and Wipro. 70 percent students secured internships in companies like TCS Cognizant and PwC. Common roles offered are analyst developer and support engineer.
Infrastructure: Our course has modern labs high speed Wi-Fi smart classrooms and a well stocked library. The hostel provided clean spacious rooms good security and decent mess food with a canteen for extra options. Medical facilities are available round the clock and sports areas like gym courts and fields are well maintained. Overall the infrastructure and hostel environment are comfortable and supportive for students.
Faculty: The faculty is helpful qualified and knowledgeable and the teaching quality is clear and practical. The curriculum is relevant and aligned with industry needs offering good hands on learning. Semester exams are moderate difficult but fair and most students passed with ease with an overall pass percentage of 85 to 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because it aligned with my interests and offered strong career potential. I appreciated most is the practical learning through labs projects and supportive faculty who guided us well. Placements and industry exposure are also helpful. I wish the course included more updated tools software and extra workshops. The campus has a friendly crowd with enjoyable events fests and active clubs. Connectivity to the city is good and the surroundings felt safe. Scholarship options are available for eligible students. Overall it is a positive and balanced experience with room for improvement.
