Students looking forward to take admission in the MDes programme at the School of Design UPES, has to necessarily meet the described eligibility criteria. The students need to score an aggregate of at least 50% in their undergraduate course from any stream as well in their Class 12. The admission is based on the scores achived in the accepted entrance exam.

MDes programme is offered in four specialisations, namely Product Design, Transportation Design, Communication Design, and Product Design. Admission to MDes at UPES School of Design is entrance-based.

The tuition fees that need to be paid against the pursued MDes course at School of Design UPES is INR 13.2 Lacs for two years. Students need to pay the fees at intervals, when requested by the college. There are scholarships available at UPES that helps students in various ways. To avail the scholarships that are available, students must check for the eligibility.

Admission to UPES School of Design for courses such as MDes would require Class 10 and Class 12 qulaification with 50% along with 50% aggregate in graduation. Candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as UCEED/ UPESDAT. After qualifying the merit based criteria, candidates must appear for portfolio presentation and interview. For final admission, shortlisted candidates must pay the fees and confirm the seat.

The mode of UPES School of Design course admission is online. Admission to various courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are  CUET,  NIFT Entrance Exam, JEE Main, NID Entrance Exam,  UCEED,  UPES DAT, and others. If applying through NID, candidates must know the NID exam pattern and solve as many NID question papers as possible. 

The UPED DAT 2024 application fees is INR 1,750. The application fees has to be paid using online payment options like net banking, credit card, debit, and demand draft.

Design programmes such as BDes and MDes are taught in such a way at there is a hands-on practice done in sketching, drawing, illustrations, materials, and computer-aided design (CAD). In the end, the students will be able to learn to apply their creativity, knowledge, and skills to real-world projects and develop their  current skills. There is an Mac lab, film and media lab, AR/VR lab, 3D printing, and others.

Yes, JEE Main is only one of the accepted entrance exams for admission to the UPES School of Design. There are various other entrance exams accepted by the UPES School of Design which are  CUET,  NIFT Entrance Exam,  NID Entrance Exam,  UCEED,  UPES DAT, and others. Students can take admission through these entrance exams but if a student is applying through JEE Main, a valid score in JEE Main is necessary.
