Commonly asked questions On Fees and Eligibility
No, the CUET score is not mandatory for admission to the School of Open Learning, the University of Delhi undergraduate and postgraduate courses. DU SOL admission to UG courses is based on candidates' performance in their Class 12 examination. For postgraduate courses, 50% of the total intake will be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi. Rest 50% of the seats will be filled through entrance examination and interview/ group discussion if any.
DU SOL admission 2023 to various UG and PG courses is based on merit in Class 12. Candidates who are seeking admission to DU SOL must have an aggregate of 45 per cent in Class 12 in case student is from General category. Whereas for OBC category candidates must have passed Class 12 with 40 per cent aggregate and for SC/ ST/ PwBD students, they must have passed Class 12. During the third semester of SOL MBA course, apart from three compulsory papers, candidate has to choose five elective courses. In the fourth semester, five elective courses have to be chosen. The elective courses are further mentioned below for candidates reference:

Admission to the MBA course in SOL is based on merit in the degree course. During the selection, 80% weightage is for graduation marks and 20% weightage of marks for professional work experience. Additionally, 20% for four years of experience, 15% for three years, 10% for two years and so on. Some other categories for admission are:
- For MBBS/BDS/MD/MDS degree holders or persons having experience in hospital administration with 2 years.
- For Group A officers of govt. and public undertaking organisations having graduation in any discipline.
- For those having experience of 2 or more years in corporate houses/hospitality and transportation sector/industry/service sector/ self-employed professionals.

The School of Open Learning, University of Delhi offers a BCom course for a duration of three years, which is spread across six semesters. DU SOL admission generally begins in the first week of October for undergraduate courses. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the institute to apply online.
School of Open Learning admission to this course is merit-based only for the students of Delhi University. However, students studying outside DU need to appear for an entrance test conducted by Delhi University. For SOL MA admission, students are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility requirement set by SOL. School of Open Learning 50% of seats will be filled by direct admission (based on the merit of graduation scores) and the remaining 50% will be filled on the basis of candidates' performance in the entrance test and personal interview, conducted by SOL.
The total tuition fee for School of Open Learning, University of Delhi BCom and BCom (Hons) courses is INR 1,500. The fee mentioned here is the tuition fee and does not include components such as University Student Welfare Fund, College Student Welfare Fund and University Development Fund, among others.
DU SOL offers a BA course at the UG level for a duration of three years that is spread across four semesters.
