SMIT Sikkim MBA Courses & Fees 2026: Eligibility, Admissions, Placements, Application Process

MAT is conducted multiple times a year. Most of the MBA entrance exams in India are conducted annually. MAT is the only exam that is conducted multiple times in four phases and multiple exam modes. To make it possible for every MBA aspirant to appear for an entrance exam, AIMA designed MAT, which can be taken by candidates from an exam center as well as at home. The exam is held in February, May, September, and December, which allows candidates to prepare and plan for it as well as for MBA admission. In each of these four months, the MAT is conducted in CBT, PBT, and IBT modes. Candidates can choose a date and a mode of exam based on their preparation and convenience. Registrations for each MAT exam phase start a month earlier. Candidates can also take re-tests in the same academic session if they are not happy with their scores.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), Manipal University, requires several documents to verify the eligibility and identity. The list of the documents that are required at the time of filling out the MBA application form is as follows: 

• Class 10 and 12 Mark Sheets 
• Graduation marksheet
• CAT/ MAT scorecards
• Transfer Certificate
• Migration Certificate

The basic eligibility criteria required by the institute to get admissions into MBA course is candidates must complete their bachelor's degree from any stream with a minimum aggregate of 50% and 45% for reserved category candidates. Moreover, for admissions confirmation the institute accepts the relevant scores of CAT/ MAT/ University Level Entrance Test. Further, the selection process is based group discussion followed by a PI. 

Sikkim Manipal University only accepts entrance exam scores for admission to the MBA course along with the basic qualification for the management course. National-level exams such as CAT and MAT are accepted by the university. However, students can opt for the University Entrance Test to get shortlisted for the MBA course. SMIT Online Test 2024 Counselling is mandatory for students to participate to finalise their seats. Further, candidates' performance in group discussions and interviews is also considered for final admission.

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% aggregate (45% for Reserved Category). 

MAT application process is online. Candidates are required to fill the application form by registering at the AIMA MAT website. The application process of MAT CBT, PBT and IBT is the same and candidates can fill the form for more than one exam mode. Candidates can take the MAT exam as Internet Based Test (IBT) or Double Internet Based Test (IBT) or Paper Based Test (PBT) or Computer Based Test (CBT) or Paper Based Test and Internet Based Test (PBT plus IBT) or Computer Based Test and Internet Based Test (CBT plus IBT) or Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT plus CBT). Given below is the process to fill the MAT registration and application form: 1. Open official website of AIMA MAT 2. Enter Name, Phone Number, Email ID, Date of Birth and set a password 3. Click on submit 4. An OTP will be sent in the registered mobile number 5. Verify phone number using the OTP 6. New login will be sent in your email 7. Select exam mode, exam date and other details 8. Upload your passport size photo and signature 9. Select 5 MBA institutes of your preference 10. Pay the fee via debit/credit card or net banking 11. In the next page add personal details, academic details, address, etc. 12. Fill the remaining fields and the click on the declaration check box 13. Submit the form to complete the process.
