Placements: The PGDM - Big Data Analytics programme of GIM has been creating buzz around India. Even after being a 4-year-old programme BDA has achieved new heights and has set new records when it comes to placements. The programme achieved 100% placements in the month of December itself with the highest package of 30.17 LPA, setting an all-time high college record. The average is also expected to increase and go above 13+ LPA. The highest package of SIP is 1.2 Lacs per month. Top recruiters visited the campus from various sectors and have offered various job roles in Analytics as well in General Management.
Infrastructure: GIM has the best classroom infrastructure with high-tech Labs powered by SAS and other Big Data tools Microsoft Azure, Power BI, Tableau, and so on. The library is accessible for the students 24x7 with all curriculum books and good infrastructure for students to prepare for their assignments and projects. The classrooms, hostels are having a high-speed Wi-Fi connection which goes up to 200mbs download speed. The hostel rooms are quite spacious and well maintained. Placements: Data analytics is gaining popularity as the most important trend that businesses are looking for. PGDM - BDA is an amalgamation of management and in-demand analytical skills. The placements have been extremely promising for a relatively new course. The major recruiters of our course are from the banking industry. The USP of GIM - Big Data Analytics is the 5-month summer internship program helping students gain hands-on industry experience on analytical tools.
Infrastructure: I would rate the college 10/10 in terms of infrastructure. Labs are equipped with powerful analytical tools that are accessible 24X7 by students. The campus is lush green and is Wi-Fi enabled throughout. Classrooms are spacious and air-conditioned. The mess offers a variety of dishes both Continental/Indian and is maintained by a student-driven health club. Medical assistance is available 24X7 for the students.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, with rich experience in the relevant field. Visiting faculty are industry leaders. They visit the campus and help students gain hands-on knowledge of the current industry trends. The course curriculum is carefully laid out keeping in mind the industry needs. Students are given training in SAS by industry professionals.
Other: I opted for this course because data is the new trend. Big data analytics is one of the most in-demand career paths today. It is one of the best colleges for data science and analytics enthusiasts.
Placements: PGDM in big data analytics programme was started in 2018. Within 3 years, our college is rated among the top 3 colleges by Analytics Insight, MBA Universe, Outlook and many other rating platforms. Even though it is a new programme with a batch strength of above 100 students, it is still providing 100% placements and doing better every year. The highest salary package offered for SIP was 1.2 LPA, while in final placements, it was 21.6 LPA. The average stipend offered for the summer internship was Rs. 40,000 per month, and the average salary package offered was 11.7 LPA. Major roles offered here were data scientist, data analyst, business analyst and also other roles by companies which visit here for recruitment.
Infrastructure: If you like the environment and embrace peace, then Goa Institute of Management is a perfect place. It is surrounded by serene beauty, mountains and lovely weather. The infrastructure here is very good. Every facility like gym, parking areas, shops, nice and tidy hostels are available within the campus.
Faculty: All professors here are well qualified and have a lot of industry exposure. The course curriculum is mainly case-based and also provides practical aspects, which makes it easy to understand difficult concepts. The curriculum is designed in such a way that non-technical background students can also understand concepts easily and do well in their studies.
Other: The main reason for me to join this college is its increasing demand for Big Data Analytics programme. Moreover, our college ranking is increased from 49 to 35 in NIRF, and also it has increased exposure to students. A lot of events are organised here, and every festival is celebrated with diverse students. The diversity in GIM is one of the things to consider.

One of the best college for Big Data Analytics.
Placements: The PGDM-Big Data Analytics programme was started in 2018 and has become a few of the top MBA courses in data Science domain, even though it is a new programme, the placements have been 100% for the course and are doing better every year. The highest package for SIP offered was 1.2 L and for finals was 21.6 LPA. The average stipend for the SIP was 40k and the average CTC was 11.7 LPA. The major roles offered were data scientist and business analyst, the companies came from different domains.
Infrastructure: If you are someone who loves nature and embraces peace, GIM is the place to be. Every day you wake up next to the mesmerizing view of Sahyadri mountains and we also have the very poised Harvalem waterfalls just 15 minutes away from the campus. The infrastructure is very good and each and every facility is available at the campus including, shops, gym, parking areas, nice and tidy hostels, dedicated sports facilities. The library is best amongst all as it holds a good collection of books that help the students as well as the faculty. BDA enjoys two state-of-the-art data analytics lab coupled with 24*7 Wi-Fi. Labs are included with all the latest tools and technologies that are related to data Science.
Faculty: All the professors are very well qualified and have a lot of industry experience as well. The course curriculum is very descriptive as it helps us gain knowledge about each and every aspect of the course from scratch. PGDM-BDA is considered to be a techno-managerial course and the structure of the course is so well designed that anyone even from a nontech background can do very well. The course is designed to prepare data fluent managers with an influence in data-driven decision-making. The grading system is relative and the course is divided into 6 trimesters in which one is spent in a company doing hands-on corporate work.
Other: The main reason for joining this specific course was the rise in the demand for data-driven decision-makers that have a sense of business coupled with technological skills in the data domain. There is no room for improvement in the course as it is very well laid out and if there is the course is under continuous change as required by the industry. A lot of events happen in college and students who come from very diverse backgrounds take part in them. The diversity that GIM offers is one of the things to look for.

Big Data is a very niche course. GIM will be one of few colleges offering this course. So, by the time a student graduates in 2020, there will be a huge scope for the course.
