Q:   What is unique about Sri Venkateswara College?
15thumbs up
A:
The focus on holistic education is one of the characteristics that make Sri Venkateswara College unique. In the College's opinion, education should be more than academic training; it also needs to focus on self-development and character building. To that end, the school offers a range of opportunities for students to participate in various activities and events such as service work or outreach. If you're are sports enthusiast then this college is definitely for you, from cricket to football, badminton, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis it has everything you can think of. Not only sports but it does also consists of dance societies, music societies etc. Some teachers in the faculty also dedicate much time in equipping students with practical knowledge as well, creating a perfect balance between theoretical and practical knowledge. Let me get you with a better view on this point, one of our teachers in commerce faculty helped all of us connecting with some of her past students who were placed in good companies such as google, Delloite, KPMG such face-to-face interactions which also includes Q&A session is definitely a pool of knowledge for all current students. So, yes these were some unique points about Sri Venkateswara College which definitely make it stand out from the crowd. Hope you liked it, Thanks.

Q:   How is mess food at Sri Venkateswara College?
A:
I've never tasted the food in mess but according to some of my friends who used have access to Venky's mess said that, most of the time the food was good and hygienic but sometimes it may be annoying to eat same meal multiple times in a week. But I think that's how college life is you've to sacrifice your taste and comfort you used to get earlier in your home.

The placements in our college are very less for our course and a few companies approach our college to recruit students, but there is rare chance to get selected.

Decent college for decent people.
Placements: According to my knowledge, many of my batchmates get placed in different companies. The highest package is around 15 LPA, and the average package is around 4–5 LPA. The top recruiters include Brains & Co. and McKinsey. In my course, almost everyone seriously interested in internships gets one with a good stipend. The top roles offered are Consulting and Sales.
Infrastructure: There is no specific department building for Commerce. Classes are held either in the new building or the old Arts block. Wi-Fi does not work properly in many places during the daytime. The library is good and peaceful, but its resources can be upgraded. The quality of food in the hostel is decent. The canteen food is sometimes good and sometimes bad, but most of the time it is good.
Faculty: Teachers in my course are not very helpful and give attention to only a small group of students. The curriculum is also not very good because the syllabus is basic and can easily be learned through YouTube. The semester exams for the program course are much easier than the honors course exams.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in Commerce. I want to pursue B.Com (Hons.), but now I am glad that I am studying in the B.Com Program because I do not have too much academic pressure. The college fest, Nexus, is one of the biggest and best festivals in Delhi University. The campus has good diversity. Students from different backgrounds study here. Connectivity is excellent because the metro station is just outside the campus. There are many societies that students can join to improve their skills.

A good college overall in my experience.
Placements: Around 40–50% of students get placed. The average package is around 6.5 LPA. Many companies, such as Deloitte and Masters' Union, visit the campus. An internship fair also takes place, where a good number of students get internships in companies like Inglu and many NGOs. Overall, the placement is average.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for commerce students is a little better because the classes take place in a separate building. But overall, the infrastructure is fine. The only issue is that there is no AC in any of the classrooms except the Science block, so the summers are a little unbearable. Hostel facilities are available for a limited number of students, but the reviews are good.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful and qualified. The only issue is that there are many South Indian teachers, so there is sometimes a communication barrier because they do not understand Hindi. Their English is a little difficult to understand. The curriculum is mostly fine, but it is very theory-based. It can be more practical so that it helps us learn more about the real world.
Other: I chose B.Com because of my interest in Accounts, and I also pursue CA along with it. I hope the course becomes more practical. The college gives us more lab courses and lab sessions and teaches us more real-world skills. The fests are really good and are definitely among the best. The crowd is also good once you find your people. There are many societies to join so that you can follow your interests as well.

Absolutely satisfied with all the listed things.
Placements: Not really sure about the percentage, but approximately 10-20 percent of students got placed. This is more of an arts field and the college is best known for commerce fields. I'm not sure about recruitment companies but companies that do have the requirement for Maths and commerce visit the college. Not really sure but approximately 10-20 percent of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great. The college has really been upgraded in the past few years. The library is perhaps the best thing about our college including labs. I'm not a hostel student but I've heard the college really works for the comfort of hostel students.
Faculty: Teachers are sometimes helpful, sometimes not really helpful, it depends from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum is relevant. It does make you industry-ready too. The semester exams are quite tough. The pass percentage is approximately 46 percent, which is honestly a very good decision.
Other: This course was the only thing that was being offered within my score. The teachers sometimes take things very lightly compared to other courses. The fests and events are great and our college is known for it's best fests.

It's a good college with good faculty and crowd.
Placements: Placement is average when compared to all colleges, but it's obviously above average if we compare to DU colleges. A good number of companies come to our college and even an internship fair is organised regularly so that students can find internships for the summer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. 1 mark cut for no dedicated football facility and there is no AC in classrooms despite an increase in heat. The main problem is there is no auditorium in the college premises. It is said a million times that it is in development. Labs are good.
Faculty: I'm satisfied with the teachers and all. All are very helpful and good in nature. Teachers are qualified, and they are helpful if you ask about any problem, they will help you. The lab staff also provide you with appropriate information.
Other: This college is famous for its crowd and its fest. They are literally the best when it comes to grand fests. The crowd is very good as compared to other DU colleges.

Venky- The heart of South Campus.
Placements: Around 100-200 percent placements. Deloitte, Accenture, and other startups have been here. Internships are also the same percentage. HR, marketing, management, etc., are the kind of roles offered. The placement cell of Venky is well coordinated. They get companies, NGOs, and startups.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good overall very lively though ACs are not there in most of the classrooms. Rest, cleanliness is maintained. The library is air-conditioned. More space could be incorporated. Maggi point is where the stories are narrated. Basically the official hangout spot.
Faculty: Some teachers put in the effort some do not. Curriculum is relevant. Exams are of moderate level teachers are well qualified. Venky dogs are the sweetest. Societies encourage you and make you a better version of yourself. Exams are appropriate.
Other: I would like to socialise more. I chose this field to gain more knowledge about the management aspect from my career pov. Fests are the best. Activities outside the classroom could be improved.

Average view on college, good overall, beautiful, and helpful.
Placements: Placements in Science Courses are usually lower. The highest package offered in college is 21.5 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. Usually Science courses students opt for entrance exams and higher education to move further into their respective fields.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, tables, chair, boards, and projectors are present in classrooms. The library is amazing for students looking for different genres of books and to study in their free time. The only problem is the fans being spaced too far apart and no ACs in common classrooms. The canteen has decent food, good sports facilities, and medical facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are very educated in their respective fields and display immense knowledge yet sometimes their quality of teaching is not up to the mark. The course curriculum is relevant as it prepares you for both entrance exams and other options which students might go for. The semester exams are medium to hard and the pass percentage is around 90-95 percent.
Other: I chose this course as it offers diverse knowledge in not only one subject but multiple. For my course I would suggest better lab facilities. The events are amazing and well thought about, extracurricular activities are also very prominent, and the college is very supportive of these activities.
