B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.6
Average college life, limited core placements, decent for self-learn.
Placements: My college, St. Ann's College of engineering and technology, for Mechanical Engineering the placements are kind of average. Not everyone gets placed in core companies. D. People usually do internships in local workshops, small industries, or on an online platform. Getting internships in big core companies is quite difficult. The roles offered are mainly Graduate Engineer Trainee, Production Engineer, Quality Engineer, and Maintenance Engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our department are okay, not too great, but manageable. Classrooms are decent with basic seating and ventilation. Some rooms have projectors, but not all are regularly used. Labs are available for mechanical subjects like workshop, thermal, and production, but the equipment is a bit outdated. Still, you can learn the basics if you are interested. There is Wi-Fi in the campus, but the speed and connectivity are not always reliable.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly qualified and helpful, but teaching quality is average. Curriculum is somewhat relevant but not fully industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and the pass percentage is around 80% if you prepare well. This college is the best.
Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering because I was interested in how machines work and wanted to learn about design, manufacturing, and real-world engineering concepts. The best part of this course is that it gives both theoretical and practical knowledge. Subjects like thermodynamics, design, and manufacturing are quite interesting. Also, learning tools like CAD and understanding real mechanical systems is a good experience.

Our college has a good infrastructure.
Placements: There is a placement cell in the college, and they take CRT classes for students to have good communication skills. But no companies come to recruit for our branch. Only a few companies come to the college for placements. But the faculty members are excellent and have a lot of knowledge. The senior batch had only a few placements.
Infrastructure: Our college has a very good infrastructure, and it is located nearby a village. The surroundings are very neat and clean. There is a lot of machinery in the labs, especially for our branch. The library has a lot of books by many authors. We have Nadu trophy every year, and the main sport at our college is cricket.
Faculty: We have excellent faculty members who are very friendly to us and explain everything we ask. They are knowledgeable, and they are M.Tech graduates. Some of them are PhD holders, and our HOD is very kind and encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities.
Other: Vybhav event is organised like a festival in the college every year.

The faculty members are very talented, and most of the students feel free to ask their doubts. Industrial exposure is provided whenever required. Their teaching quality is the best, and they are highly knowledgeable.

A good infrastructural college with less Placements and less encouragement for skills.
Placements: Nil. They said that they can't afford paid placements from Renault and some companies. Some other companies came for placements but they never sent any call letters for the selected students. So finally, If you are looking for campus placements, don't expect any from this college. As there are no reliable campus placements, there is no question of percentage required and all. Anyhow they prefer above 65% as the minimum qualification for placements.
Infrastructure: Very good infrastructure with around 60 acres campus. Cricket ground, Laboratories, spacious classrooms, Medical room with nurses, SBI Atm, very fine Library. No Wi-Fi facility. They have two boys hostels, in which one is worse and the new one is better but it has lesser number of rooms and beds. No infrastructural problems. Too far from the city, so You may get transport problems.
Faculty: More than half of the faculty are M.Tech qualified and the remaining are Under Graduates. There are some experienced faculty but they face problems with communication skills. Half of them don't know the basics of english. If they try to teach in regional language in which they are good at, they might be good faculty. They conduct workshops frequently.
Other: They conduct college fest with name 'VAIBHAV ' every year. In which other colleges compete with our college to get praises in sports, power point presentations and other curricular activities. Scholarship facility. Affiliated with NBA and NAAC A grade.
