M.Sc. in Microbiology - Batch of 2026

Beautiful with brains. As the campus is also really nice, and teaching is also really good.
Placements: Placement is not great for M.Sc. microbiology. Very few seniors have gotten in through it, not many. But this time, there are a few more companies that they have referred. If it comes, we will all be placed. But it's improving as the year progresses, so we think we will get a good placement.
Infrastructure: It's a very good campus, we have good education facilities like a really good library, we have a gym, an indoor badminton court, a basketball court, and a football ground, and we have a really good canteen. Medical facility is also good. Hostel is also very nice. Overall, the lab and class are well-maintained and good.
Faculty: Faculty is really good, they are very experienced, and they teach really well. Curriculum is balanced with both extracurricular activities and studies, and we will have time for exams, which are well done. There are no complaints about the teaching.
Other: It's a really good campus and I personally have no other addition.

A supportive campus with strong academics and practical learning.
Placements: As a student of St. Joseph University, I found the placement experience to be a mix of opportunities and challenges. The university's placement cell is quite active and well-structured, organizing workshops on resume building, communication skills, and aptitude tests, which really helped me feel more confident.
Infrastructure: The university offers well-equipped classrooms, labs, and a rich library for academics. The hostels are clean, comfortable, and community-friendly, with average food. The hostel curfew is 6 p.m. Overall, the infrastructure effectively supports both learning and
Faculty: The MSW program at St. Joseph University is designed to blend academic learning with professional exposure. The faculty is one of the strongest aspects of the course. Most of them have not only academic qualifications but also years of field experience in areas like social work practice, counseling, community development, and NGO management.

It is value for money and worth it. Teaching is excellent.
Placements: Basically, the university B.Com program is now an autonomous college affiliated with the university. There were many opportunities for placements for students. Campus placements were held every year. Students from any department of the college, such as mathematics, chemistry, and commerce were invited. We had the possibility of being selected as employees. They will get placement opportunities through recruiting agencies like Vedanta, Wipro, etc.
Infrastructure: College was excellent in terms of infrastructure. St. Joseph's College is now a university. So they provided all the basic and advanced facilities required for the students. We had a library that the students could access at any time.
Faculty: The curriculum was not rigorous. Faculty members were very approachable, well-qualified, and helpful. The course curriculum was well-planned and revised regularly. College provided a great experience, and the only problem was placement at college. Faculty members were quite good.
Other: Teaching was good here. It was value for money.

B.A. in International Relations and Peace Studies, Journalism and Public Policy Timings - Batch of 2024

Apart from admin, everything is good.
Placements: As far as I know for placements, our batch as one from the humanities school did not receive many opportunities from the college while we did receive premium LinkedIn accounts. Most of my batchmates went for higher studies in other institutions while the rest found work back home or in the city through their own efforts or connections via their internships. About 40% of our batch had an internship of some kind or the other for newspapers, content writing, marketing or institutions like NIAS (for IR or public policy focus).
Infrastructure: For our course, we were placed in classrooms and media labs for newsroom simulation. These spaces were aptly equipped though at times, our own classrooms were crowded considering we had about 75-80 students for a subject. Food was available in two canteens, one right outside the humanities building (which also had a sick room) and one was the magis canteen which had a whole lot of other options in an affordable range. Magis canteen was right next to the sports field, in the same building with an indoor basketball court and shower rooms for athletes.
Faculty: Professors were really helpful and insightful. The course was also very enjoyable. Though foreign languages were seen as a challenge it was a welcome change for me as it helped me improve my proficiency in a new language (they offer German and French). The course did loads to help us make industry-ready with newsroom simulations, policy labs, and research training + fact-finding for international relations and conflict studies. Semester exams were of an appropriate level for our course and could be passed via expressing enough understanding of the subject matter.
Other: I chose this course because it was the only college that offered this combination that year and I wished to study journalism alongside IR and conflict studies. I wish however that the management could have handled things better. Because of attendance shortage, they held back half of the student population and then they introduced them to a lot of fees to get their degree from then onwards. My advice was to not miss a single class, medical reasons did not qualify as reasons enough to be absent. Only by showing a hospital admittance record, you could be excused.

M.A. in Political Science - Batch of 2022

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
My honest review about my college.
Placements: Placement opportunities were vast with top companies coming for campus placements. If any student had a particular job description in his/her mind, the placement officer had good collaboration with the companies that could help them out. There were companies such as Ernst&Young, KPMG, Goldman Sachs, and many others that came to the campus for both internships and placements.
Infrastructure: I was a day scholar but as usual I used to hear complaints from the hostel guys that the food was not good. They had some water problems and toilets not being clean and things like that. Courses and exams were just the way they used to happen during graduation, having 2 semesters in a year, and the internal exams making the 75+25 pattern. 75 marks for the theory part and the remaining 25 marks for the internal exams. There were no extra activities apart from exams and lectures.
Faculty: Faculty members were all experienced and elderly people in their 40s and 50s. They were very friendly and very strict. They knew the limits and were experts in handling the class. Studied in annual scheme at that time, there were two exams in a year which were mid-term and annual. We had quarterly assessments we had a carry-forward scheme even if we failed in two subjects. We had an option to carry forward those subjects for the next year, and we could appear for supplementary exams to clear those subjects.
