Placements: Thanjavur Medical College provides 150 seats for MBBS course. Per class we had 150 students each year. We were having 4 and a half years of study course and 1 year of internship totally 5 and a half years. 2nd year onwards we would had clinical postings. Every student should work as an intern for 1 year after completion of course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was not so good because its an old building of almost 30 years. Cleanliness in maintenance was also average only. No Wi-Fi or AC available in class and hostel. We have canteen in our college. Quality of food would be average but in hostel the mess quality provided would be very good. We had international sports meet every year and culturals would be conducted for 1 week every year. Yearly college fees 13,000 + For Books 7,000 + Hostel fees only for Food 5,000 per month + Exam fees 4,000.
Faculty: The faculty members were kind skillful and knowledgeable. The doctors who were placed as associate professor were taking class for us. Live classes at clinical postings with patients were also available. Difficulty of semester exams will be high. Every year we had university exam with practical and the pass percentage was 50 percent. We would be conducting seminars every week and every year there is selection to choose college representative.

The lowest salary is Rs 16,000 per month, and the average is Rs 20,000 per month - Rs 25,000 per month. 90% of students can be placed in internships in my course. The food quality is good and neat. Medical facilities are available 24X7. The sports and games facilities are good. The library facilities are available in my college.
Faculty: Teacher's teaching methods are good. Qualified and knowledgeable staffs are only there in my course and college. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry to ready. The semester exams are not very tough because our teachers can teach very well. Most students can pass the semester exams.

Overall, a good college with good faculty members and atmosphere.
Placements: There are no placements for the course. Once we get the MBBS certificate, we get to work on our clinics or join someone on our own. The internship is a must for all students who complete the course to attend for 1 year in the college itself. There are scholarships for students of different categories.
Infrastructure: Being one of the oldest colleges in Tamilnadu, it has its faults. The infrastructure is quite old, though there are all facilities like a small computer lab, library etc. The hostel is also old but spacious and has all the necessary facilities including a gym. There are a total of 7 hostels.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and good at teaching. They help tremendously in my studies and in solving my queries and problems. They also help us a lot with personal problems that we face along with academic difficulties. The curriculum is on par with the course and the new improvements are good for studies.
Other: I chose the batch for its value and respect it gives, the importance of saving a person's life. Events in the college include 1 sports event per year, a cultural program, and a Pongal program. Other minor programmes may or may not be conducted by the departments. There could have been more programmes to improve the campus life for students.

One of the top medical colleges in Thanjavur. I am proud to be part of its journey.
Placements: As it is a medical college, there is no process for recruiting. It is a 4-and-a-half-year course after which a 1-year fixed internship in the same college is held, for which a stipend of nearly Rs. 25,000 per month. After completion, you are officially a doctor with an MBBS degree. You can pursue a clinic or go for further PG studies which is highly prescribed. For PG, you have to write a NEET PG exam and get placed. PG is a 3-year course usually after which you have a MD.
Infrastructure: Labs and practicals are provided for almost all departments. There is a good library which is mostly utilised for studying for the university exams. As it is a medical college, facilities provided are as expected. The hostel fee is Rs. 6,000 per month. Sports and games such as football, cricket, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and others have their own designed areas and facilities.
Faculty: Tamil Nadu is listed as top among the southern states in terms of education. Although I am from Kerala I preferred Tamil Nadu for this purpose. Teachers are of MD degree and above. The medical course is of high relevance. Students go through clinical postings from the second year. They are industry-ready if the provided way is utilised. Exams are of average difficulty with a high passing rate.

Review of Thanjavur Medical College.
Placements: Our course had a total of 5 students. Top neuro hospitals like Kamatchi Hospital, Meenakshi Hospital, and AIIMS recruited students from our college. The placement percentage was 100% because the strength was minimal. Top roles offered were hospitalizing patients, maintaining their records, and monitoring them daily.
Infrastructure: Our college had the best hostel. The infrastructure was neat and clean. As this was a government college, the food was the main problem. The management served very good food at an affordable cost.
Faculty: Our college produces good quality students every year, with 100% pass rate. The result was moderate. Exams were easy because of the internal exams. They were conducted once every 15 days, which would ease the preparation for final semester exams.
Other: It was a 3-year course. The campus life was pleasant. I would recommend joining this college. It would change your future. As it was a government college, the fee structure was the same for all.
