There are various entrance exam scores that TMI will accept for admission to its B.Sc. program. You need to have these below exam qualifications for TMI admission in Bsc. Here we have the eligibility criteria of 10 + 2 i.e., in Maths, Physics and Chemistry should have the 60% aggregate and in English 50% aggregate thereafter you should write the IMU CET and after you will have their own entrance test i.e., TMISAT. After the affiliation from Indian Maritime University (IMU) in 2016, TMI has made the entrance test TMISAT and IMUCET mandatory for getting enrolled in the Institute. It is necessary and mandatory to qualify these two tests along with other minimum eligibility criteria to join the Institute. Earlier, till 2015 TMI accepted the enrollment on the basis of BITSAT and interview but after the affiliation the criteria changed. For Tolani Maritime Institute admissions, candidates must have a valid IMUCET score. For some courses, TMI SAT scores are also mandatory, which is an in-house entrance exam of TMI. Candidates are then required to appear for this online test conducted by the institute. The final selection is based on candidates' performance in a PI round, followed by a medical test. In order to apply for the courses of their choice, candidates have to fill an online application form of the TMI. Further, to give an entrance exam of IMUCET, a separate application form is also filled on the official website of IMU CET.

For admission to a three-year BSc course in Nautical Science, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Those who attain 60% aggregate in Class 12 in the Science stream are eligible to apply for this course. Admission to this course is entrance-based. Tolani Maritime Institute conducts Tolani Maritime Institute Science Aptitude Test (TMI SAT), which is particularly conducted by the institute for admission to its BSc course. This course is offered in affiliation with IMU and after the completion of this course, students will receive a degree from IMU. The institute also accepts the  IMUCET entrance exam, which is conducted by IMU itself. Candidates have to appear and qualify for both entrance exams with a valid score.

• BTech Scholarship: For BTech, the scholarships are awarded under various categories such as Dr. C. P. Srivastava Scholarship, TEF Need cum Merit based Scholarship, Mrs. Papu Tolani Scholarship, The Vasant J. Sheth Memorial Foundation Scholarships. As per the official website, the top 17.5 % of top-ranked students are awarded scholarships of approximately INR 46 Lacs annually.
• BSc Scholarship: For each semester, the top three ranked students from each class are awarded scholarships of approximately INR 1 lakh. The highest offered scholarship is worth INR 30,000 and the lowest amount is INR 10,000, which is offered via "Capt. J.C. Anand Scholarship".
