M.Sc. in Geology - Batch of 2026
5.0
The era of many years.
Placements: In my course, geology has a total of 45 members, both regular and self-financed students. The fee structure difference between regular students is approximately 25,000, and for self-financed students, it is 35,000. There are no placements in geology, so there is no company recruitment in college. Out of 45, 10 members got internship opportunities. There is no recruitment in my geology department.
Infrastructure: Coming to infrastructure, the facilities are very good and comfortable for studying. My department has lab facilities as well as library facilities. As for the Wi-Fi facility, almost all the university has Wi-Fi available for all the students. Mess facilities are number 1. I give a 5-star rating to the mess and canteen. Overall, all the facilities are provided by the university.
Faculty: In my geology course, the teachers are very well qualified, with qualifications such as JRF entrance and NET UGC, etc. Some teachers are working on a contract basis. The course curriculum is relevant, interesting, and knowledgeable. It definitely prepares the students for the industry. Semester examinations are, as usual, tough according to university examination criteria, and the pass percentage is about 99 percent, as almost all students pass every year.
Other: We have a lot of things to enjoy on campus with my friends and batchmates, and we have fests like farewell and freshers' parties.

Other: I take my Geology course due to my interest in Geology while studying undergraduate. My best thing is friends. The campus provides all the best facilities useful for students.

The Backbone of Telangana Freedom Udyamala Puritigadda Osmania University.
Placements: 70% occupancy of students in class every day, we have at least 75% attendance per semester. Companies have fewer or no Internships from GSI and NGRI, and remote sensing from other state and central private companies offering internships to students, and a cent company also provides placement for geology students not in Osmania but in Kakatiya University. In my course, there are 45 students in my class, of these, 5 to 7 members will be interested in going to internships. NIT only, my batch and almost all the batches have the same percentage of students will get to internships.
Infrastructure: In my class, there are facilities like a blackboard, another marker board, a smart TV for PPT presentation, and a projector. We have all these facilities with good faculty, a Mess also very good in Kaveri hostel, has a gym and ground for exercise, and we have a special hospital for 1st year PG students, and also we use Rtc hospital for free for all the Osmania students.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. Professors are very knowledgeable Ph.D. scholars, and GATE qualified teachers are available in geology. Almost all the students 96%, pass the exam. Fewer students will discontinue or not attend the exam, and very few will fail the examination.

Poor and inexperienced faculty, and there are no placements.
Placements: There have been no placements since COVID. In our department, not that many companies attended the earlier placement drive. Due to low standards of education, MNCs are not coming for placement drives. There is a lack of practical experience. The lowest packages are INR 1,50,000–2,40,000 per annum.
Infrastructure: Good Wi-Fi facilities, a library, and poor laboratory facilities are available. Mess food is nice and unlimited for boys. Girls have limited food. Hostel infrastructure is nice. There is high security at the hostel. The campus police station is available for quick response. A limited number of permanent professors are there.
Faculty: Faculty members are inexperienced. Mostly contract-based faculty are there. In college, politics is more than study. Recommended jobs have a limited number of permanent professors. Faculty do not have practical knowledge. We need to upgrade the curriculum to the course standards of GATE and CSIR NET.
Other: Field trip expirence is nice.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of zero placements.
Placements: No one got placed. No packages are offered. No companies visited the campus. No one got the internship. Teaching quality is poor. No one got placements; we recommend that if you want placements, please choose other institutions. Central universities look better, and the quality of teaching is good there.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good. Wi-Fi connections seem better. Lab equipment is too bad. Classrooms look pleasant with air conditioning. The library is outstanding. The hostel looks nice. Food quality is awesome. Medical facilities seem better. Sports and games are good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They are very qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. Yes, it makes the students ready. There is nothing to worry about with the semester exams at the college. Everything is easy. The pass percentage is 28 percent out of 70.
Other: My course is about to explore the world. Geology, as the name itself says, means earth science. Totally science-related to Earth, here we study the interior and exterior parts of the world. Geologists always rock. ONGC offers a scholarship amount of INR 48,000.

Our college has good atmosphere.
Placements: Almost 50% of students got admission to this course. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are ONGC and AMD. Around 20% of students got internships in this course. The top role offered is geologist.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available in our department. Sports are conducted. Laboratories are well-maintained. GIS laboratory is also excellent. The food served in the mess is good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified. They are friendly with students. Semester exams are tough. If we study well, we can score good marks. The course curriculum is relevant to make students ready for the industry. The pass percentage is 70%.
Other: The best thing about this course is that we can learn all the subjects.
