Review of VGSOM IIT Kharagpur - Vinod Gupta School of Management.
Placements: The campus placements are good, with multiple offers in multiple domains. The average package offered is around 17 LPA, and the median is around 16 LPA. Many students get placed in consulting and analytics. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that such offers become feasible to candidates. The college has been achieving 100% placements consistently for the past 4 years and has also added some big brands like ITC, Amazon, Akzo Nobel, Jio Saavn, Dell, RBI etc.
Infrastructure: We used to indulge in various activities like swimming, and we had a proper gymkhana where we used to work out. It was well-equipped with all the latest machines. Apart from this, the college has a proper seminar hall. The hostel is good and well-maintained with ventilated rooms and 24-hours water and electricity supply. Apart from this, the hostel has a good and friendly environment, which actually helps us to fit in very quickly.
Faculty: We are taught various aspects of managerial concepts like managerial economics, financial management, and operational management. Along with this, there was a mandatory dissertation report which was supposed to be submitted during the final year. The college offers a micro specialisation in analytics which is its forte, However, finance courses are not generally taken up by students here.

I am happy with our college.
Placements: About 65% of the students got placed from our university. The highest salary package offered was 5.6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was Rs. 90,000 per annum. Goodyear was the top recruiter for our course. About 56% of the students get internships in Goodyear and Nestle company. They mostly offer marketing and sales roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not very much good, but the canteen facilities were good. All food items were well packaged and hygienic also. Our college also provided good Wi-Fi facility and hostel facilities. Medical facilities were also good. Sports commuter was also good, and they also organise sports meet every year.
Faculty: Our teachers were good, and they all are PhD graduates and well qualified. They help us to do new live projects, and they all focus on making students think creatively. They all are well defined to provide great knowledge through their experience.

I'm totally satisfied with university as placements are best.
Placements: IIT Kharagpur is the best college in placements in every field and each student got more than one placement offers from different companies on a high scale package. Some of them are interested and pursuing internships while some have others goals and they are preparing for it.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, it is very attractive and big. The library is all equipped with thousands of books and very big in size. There are separate number of hostels each having their own mess and food quality is also good. Sports grounds for cricket, football, volleyball court, basketball court, table tennis plus indoor games facilities are available. The labs are well maintained by staff members with all instruments upgraded and you can do your work or any research work according to a time slot given to you.
Faculty: Faculty members are the best since most of them are in college for many years and highly experienced in their fields. Their knowledge is high regarding the current situations of the market and industries. Some of them have good contacts with industries. The course curriculum is well accurately designed by board members. Hence, we have no difficulty regarding curriculum.

The college provides placements and very good infrastructure.
Placements: The college provides 100% placements for both final and summer placement. Companies from all sector like manufacturing, consulting, finance, and FMCG visited the campus for placements. Placement cell was available to coordinate the process. They work very efficiently. Companies like ITC, P&G, Nomura, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, and Citi visit the campus.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi in classrooms, huge central library, all sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor are available on the campus. Hostel and mess were of average quality. Overall, the infrastructure was very good, and it was value for money. ROI was one of the best since fees were on the lower side.
Faculty: Faculty members were one of the best parts of the college. Most of the professors had prior work experience before joining academics. Most of them use to teach through case studies and provide real-life examples. Many visiting faculty are also invited to the college.
Other: The college organises cultural, spring fest and technical fest named as Kshitiz.

I am satisfied with everything.
Placements: Placement at VGSOM is pretty decent, providing the best ROI in premium B-Schools. Placements for the senior batch is 100% with the highest salary package of 20 LPA. The average salary package offered was around 14 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 8.85 LPA. There are very diverse roles offered on the campus with a focus on analytics, consulting and operations. All the students who enrolled for internships were provided with a stipend. The highest stipend offered was Rs. 2,00,000 per month and the average stipend offered was Rs. 97,000 per month.
Infrastructure: There is no comparison when it comes to the infrastructure of an IIT. The campus is huge and equipped with all the facilities. Wi-Fi is enabled in the whole 2100 acre campus, and classrooms are air-conditioned. There is a hospital inside the campus which provides free medical services to all the students.
Faculty: Faculty members of VGSoM are well-qualified, and most of them are PhD holders. The quality of teaching is pretty good, and the main focus of the teachers in the class is student interaction. The course curriculum is very hectic, but it covers all the important subjects. Other than that, VGSoM gives us the option to take additional subjects from other departments which are not provided in other schools.

It has the best ROI among the other B-schools.
Placements: All the students who applied for placements from the senior batch and current batch got placed. The average salary package offered was 16.50 LPA, the lowest was 9.50 LPA, and the highest was 27 LPA. Mostly, roles were offered in consulting, general management, analytics and operations. The internships were splendid, and the highest stipend offered was for an international internship, which was 6 lacs for 2 months. The average stipend offered was 1 lac for 2 months, and the lowest was Rs. 40,000 for two months.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the labs in college is great. There are 9 Bloomberg terminals, and the Wi-Fi facility is excellent. However, we have rectangular classrooms, whereas the circular ones would be great. Food is available in the college canteen, and the hostels are good and are twin sharing. We didn't have any infrastructure-related issues. Cycling is the mode of transportation on the campus.
Faculty: The course covers most of the management disciplines, and the college is now shifting towards analytics. First year subjects are mandatory, and students can choose their electives from the second year. Faculty members of marketing are good, and there are several faculty members for finance. Most of the faculty members are PhD holders.
Other: Extracurricular activities in college are high because of the PaN IIT exposure.

Placements: As far in my batch, almost 85 % of the students got a summer internship and the final placement of senior batch has done 100%. For Internship Domestic: the highest 165000 INR, Average 90000 the lowest 60000 INR international 6 lacs and for final placement Highest:20lpa Average: 13lpa the lowest: 9lpa
Companies: Cognizant, Accenture, Nomura, Yes Bank, Siemens, Google, Amazon, SBI, Titan, Pwc, Vedanta and many more around 30 + companies visited in the campus for summer and final placement
Roles: Strategic consultant, Product manager, HR consultant and Business analyst, HRBP and many more.
Infrastructure: Separate College building named Vinod Gupta school of management in IIT Kharagpur campus, some HR topics are run with Department of Humanities and social Science of IIT Kharagpur, Whole campus Wi-Fi with including Lab facilities in Lab Complex - 1,2,3 and one separate building for two section class together at one place for 120 students that is Nalanda building. Hospital: B. C. Roy hospital 24*7 facility with emergency and ambulance arrangement
Separate Hostel: For Boys: MMM Hall of Residence, For Girls: Gokhle Hall of Residence Every room is neat & Clean and properly taken care by floor worker. Hostel food is healthy and nutritious.
Faculty: Every Faulty is expertise in their domain having vast experience of teaching and corporate or industrial experience from the external environment. The course is properly designed according to the current demand of the professional world to meet the requirement of the industry.
Other: Event: Purvodaya, Illuminati in Dipawali, Kshitij Tech Fest, Spring Fest, Inter IIT Sports Competition

ROI is the best. There is a less work load on students. The packages offered are good.
Placements: The placements of the college are really good. The highest salary package offered was 28 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 9 LPA. The average salary package offered was around 13.5 LPA. Marketing majors like Titan, and consulting firms like PWC, Deloitte, etc., visit the campus for placements. Even the operation majors like Lion Azure Power, ITC, and analytics firms like Tiger Analytics, Capillary, and Texas Instruments etc., have visited our campus for recruitment.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. Auditoriums are available in the college. Rooms are easily available for MBA students. The infrastructure is of IIT standards. So everything is available on the campus. We have Bloomberg terminals, software labs and computer labs. Even an international department is going to open soon. There are no separate hostels for MBA students, and they have to live along with M.Tech and B.Tech students to build a friendly and good environment on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified. Case studies are widely used. The student to faculty ratio is 120:15. Visiting faculty members are good. But, being in IIT, the curriculum is a bit inclined towards research activities. The college doesn't provide any industry exposure. They don't even provide any foreign exchange facilities. They are going to organise foreign study trips from this year.
Other: Everything is available for us since we are considered as IIT students.

Yes, The basic eligibility criteria for PGDM is a graduation degree. If you are a BBA, then you can apply for MBA/PGDM. Many students have confusion in their minds on the PGDM course and the comparison with MBA.

If you want to pursue MBA course from IITs then you have to give the MBA entrance exam named CAT from which you also get IIMs colleges as well as IITs as IITs college take admission for MBA stream through CAT entrance score.
