Vivekananda College review for B.Com (Hons).
Placements: My college placement for B.Com (hons) is very limited. There are no proper placement opportunities, and reputed companies rarely visit. Few that come are mostly for sales roles, like Bajaj Allianz and HDFC Life, which don't match the career expectations of most students. Placements are limited, mostly sales roles, so higher studies or external opportunities are better.
Infrastructure: At Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur has decent infrastructure with spacious classrooms, a library, computer labs, and a large playground. However, facilities are quite basic, and maintenance could be better. Campus environment is peaceful but lacks modern amenities found in top colleges.
Faculty: Teachers in B.Com (Hons) CBCS are helpful but the way of teaching differs from one to another. The syllabus is wide but not very practical. Exams happen on time, though most papers test memory more than real understanding, so it does not feel fully useful for future jobs.
Other: At Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur is good for B.Com (hons) with decent faculty members, peaceful campus, and supportive environment. A good choice if you want affordable education with a calm atmosphere.

Review of Vivekananda College, Kolkata.
Placements: In my course, not many students got placed. The placement percentage is very low. There are hardly any companies visiting our campus for recruitment. No big or well-known recruiting companies come, and there are no proper placement drives organized. As a result, students do not get good opportunities or specific roles through college placement. Most of us have to look for jobs or internships on our own outside the campus.
Infrastructure: College has decent infrastructure with proper classrooms and labs. Labs are well-equipped, and new instruments are available for practical learning. Teachers guide us properly during lab sessions, which is helpful. Hostel and canteen facilities are available. But the quality of food in the canteen is not very good and is a bit costly. There are also some outside shops near the campus where students can get food. Overall, the infrastructure is fine. But the mess and canteen need improvement. The labs are good and equipped with the necessary facilities, and we often get to try new things during practicals. Teachers also guide us well in the lab sessions. However, when it comes to hostel and food facilities, the situation is not great. There is no proper canteen or indoor food shop available, so we usually have to buy food from outside. Hostel and mess facilities are lacking. There are no proper arrangements for snacks or meals within the campus. Overall, the infrastructure is average with decent labs but poor hostel and food facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and supportive, and they do their job well in teaching as well as in practical labs. The course curriculum is quite regular and covers the necessary subjects. But it is not fully updated to make students industry-ready. Exams are conducted on time and are of moderate difficulty level, so most students are able to pass if they study properly. Overall, the faculty members are good. But the curriculum needs more updates to match current industry requirements.
Other: I chose this course for my graduate degree, need more theory classes and better placements.

The college is average.
Infrastructure: The college has a canteen. We don't have a hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are not really good. Teachers are too lazy. Some are good and some are average. As I heard, this course is pretty good. This course has a demand
Other: Classes should be regular

A college that fulfills our dreams.
Placements: In our batch, around 70-75% of students from my course are successfully placed through campus placements. The highest package offered is around ₹10-12 LPA, while the lowest is around ₹3 LPA. On average, most students received offers in the range of ₹4.5-6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college provides fairly good infrastructure and facilities for students. The classrooms are spacious with projectors and basic equipment, while the library is well-stocked with academic as well as reference books. Wi-Fi connectivity is available in most parts of the campus, though at times it could be improved. The department also has decent labs and computer facilities that are adequate for academic projects. Hostel facilities are average but manageable, with clean rooms and access to basic amenities. The food served in the mess and canteen is okay.
Faculty: Faculty of the college is highly qualified, supportive, and approachable. They explain concepts clearly and encourage students to think critically, making the teaching quality quite effective. The curriculum is relevant and updated, helping students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure, which makes them industry-ready. Faculty members also guide students with projects, internships, and research work. The semester exams are moderately difficult but fair, testing both the understanding and application of the syllabus. With regular preparation, students can easily score well, and the overall pass percentage remains high, making academics balanced and student-friendly.
Other: I chose this course because of my strong interest in media, communication, and storytelling, and the curriculum offered here aligns well with my career goals. The best part of the course is the balance of theoretical and practical learning, along with exposure to projects and internships. The campus life is lively with cultural fests, debates, and workshops that encourage creativity and networking. The crowd is diverse and engaging, which makes learning more collaborative. However, I feel the course could improve further by upgrading practical labs and adding more industry tie-ups to strengthen internship and

Just go for it. It's a good college in everything.
Placements: 70% of students are placed in my course. ABP Ananda is one of the top recruiting companies. Roles vary based on everyone's capability and their passion. The package varies based on the job category or post. Basically, if a student wants to do any internship, my college provides internships in various news companies in Kolkata.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is free, labs are also good, classrooms are okay, but the library needs some more books for our subject. I don't know about the hostel, but I heard once that it's good. The canteen food is awesome and at a low price. Even medical facilities are available for emergencies, and one room is available for game practice. Every year, our college participates in or plans games.
Faculty: Our teachers are qualified and good teachers. Our course is curriculum-relevant, and it makes students ready for the industry and for every company. Questions are moderate to hard. About the passing percentage, I don't have any idea because I'm a good student, so I always get good marks, and I don't have any idea about the passing marks.
Other: I chose the course because I was interested in mass media and new technologies, so I chose it. More updated versions of computers, more books in the library, and even bigger classrooms need to be improved, I think. Events, fests, campus, crowd, campus surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities are all so good and well-maintained.

The wonder Vivekananda College.
Placements: In the B.Sc. chemistry department, there are 60 students in a batch. The infrastructure and all are good. This is not an engineering college where you can get placements. In this college, they do not give placements. First, you have to do a B.Sc. and then an M.Sc. to get average jobs.
Infrastructure: In the chemistry department, there are three huge classrooms where a maximum of 100 students can sit. In the chemistry department, there are 4 labs. The library also has all types of books and you can issue your class books from the library. The campus has free Wi-Fi support everywhere. This college doesn't have any hostel and the canteen has average food taste.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated. They help in everything you want. They are kind, helpful, and cherished in nature. This course helps people know more about chemical things and get a job in laboratories, etc. The semester exam in the college is a little bit tough.
Other: I love chemistry, it's bonding, etc. In my course, I wish there should be strict rules in the college. The nature of the campus is very wonderful. You will like it. About 10 events are held in a year. They invite celebrities to perform.
