Is NID Better Than IIT for Design Programmes?
The common question that confuses most of the design aspirants is Is NID better than IITs for Design Programmes? What should I choose, NID or IIT? Which name has more reputation, etc? Read on to find the answer.
The answer to this question, "Is NID Better than IITs?" is very different, and there is no single or direct answer to it. The answer depends on what you want to do, how you see your design career, what you want to achieve, and what your interests are. Those who want to pursue core design education, NID is slightly ahead of IITs for them. For technology-oriented design, UX/UI, product innovation, and research, top IITs can be equally strong or even better, depending on the goals
In NIDs, students spend a lot of time working on creative projects, developing design thinking and learning through hands-on studio work. NID offers specializations such as Product Design, Communication Design, Animation, Textile Design, Ceramic, etc. If a candidate enjoys sketching, creating concepts, solving design problems, and working in a highly creative environment, NID can be a great choice.
IITs offer B.Des and M.Des through UCEED and CEED. IIT design programs combine creativity with technology, innovation, and research. Students work on projects involving user experience (UX), interface design, product development, AI and emerging technologies. If you have a science background, then pursuing B.Des and M.Des from IITs can be a better option.
