ROTARY InTech OLYMPIAD 2017-18
C Balapriya, Final year BE (ECE) qualified for the project phase of the Rotary InTech Olympiad National level Engineering Olympiad titled “Design of quadcopters for efficient use in aerial surveillance, overcoming the limitations of the existing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)”. She was also selected for Direct PhD Admission in Communication and Signal Processing Group at Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras.

International Conference @ Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata
The following students were presented research papers in an International Conference on “Statistics and Probability” at 125th Birth Anniversary of Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India, during January 2-4, 2018.

60 to 70% of papers in the conference were presented by members of faculty from reputed universities in USA, UK, France, and the only college with student papers in the conference is CIT.
CIT @ BAJA SAEINDIA 2K18
Drifting Dragons, the off-road racing team of Coimbatore Institute of Technology, participated for the second consecutive time and performed well in the Mahindra Baja SAE India 2018 competition for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) held at Pithampur, Indore. With over 388 teams from various engineering colleges across the country, BAJA SAE tasks the students to conceptualize design, build, test & validate a single-seater four-wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to take part in series of events, which includes static and dynamic events.
The ATV of the team was placed ninth in cost presentation, twenty ninth in design presentation, thirty seventh in sales presentation, thirty ninth in endurance race and fifty second in acceleration among the nation. The team was placed second in cost presentation, seventh in design presentation, sixth in sales presentation, second in endurance race and sixth in acceleration among the state.

potentially and stood second among the state and twelfth among the nation.In the 11th edition of Mahindra BAJA, a total of 388 entries applied for the Virtual event, out of which 180 teams were selected for Main Baja. The venue of this event was Chitkara University, Punjab. The virtual test comprises of analysis of buggies, extempore, CAD designs CAE analysis, general questions from rulebook and vehicle dynamics.
