Read how Hridayi Kumari's college, Manipal University, Jaipur turned her into a strong willed person. Get details on Shiksha.

When I was in Class 10, I decided to take up Science stream in my Class 12. The reason was that I found Social Science hard to remember and Science was easier than Social Science. Thus, I took PCM in Class 12 and took coaching classes from Resonance in Class XI and XII. I used to enjoy my classes with friends and our teachers were very helpful and friendly. Currently I am studying in Manipal University, Jaipur.

I cracked my way into Manipal University, Jaipur by appearing for their entrance exam MU-OET. I believe it’s not tough to crack any entrance test. Two things that you need to keep in mind is patience and attention. To prepare for the exam, I had studying materials provided by my coaching institute and also studied from NCERT books. I never studied months before the exam. I always studied a few days before the exam was conducted. I also both solved and unsolved question papers. Besides MU-OET, I also appeared for exams like JEE Mains, KIITEE, CEE, TU-OET etc. I tried for admissions at KIIT, BMS Bangalore and RV College. Playing to your strengths and sailing through the weaknesses is the best exam strategy you can bet on. I always took help from teachers. I didn’t study continuously. I took breaks in between studies. I never had a routine of studying 10-11 hours.

College life

I love spending time with my friends so I go out for a cup of tea every evening to nearby stalls with them. College classes are fun and I love attending every class. I am a part of a dance club as I am fond of dancing. I also play badminton. It’s great fun to participate in extracurricular activities. If given a chance, I would fight for women rights. Like I would love to give a position of student council to a girl to prove that girls aren’t less than boys. I would also like to open a general help desk that would cater to everybody 24*7. I would love to invite companies for those branches where placement rate is very less. I have had various experiences in life. I came across many tough situations which made me strong enough to fight alone. I stay in my college hostel and I do everything on my own. This has made me very open-minded and courageous. College life is adventures. It is here that I came to know how to handle situations without involving parents. My will has become stronger than ever after joining college and being exposed to new things.
