A separate database is maintained for the list of students who are interested in participating in the placement process and also in details regarding their academic qualification and co-curricular activities. The companies are invited as per schedule and initially a brochure is sent that showcases the placement scenario of CIT, the facilities and achievements of students. The recruitment drives are scheduled, organized and conducted professionally. After having about 60% of the students placed, dual or more opportunities are open for students. The phenomenon of multiple offers are governed by a strategy which is decided by the placement officers to equilibrate opportunities for the students as a token of credit for merit and also restrict a particular individual to have too many offers. Towards the end of the academic year, the students are asked to submit a letter that states the choice of the company they wish to join.

The companies that visited CIT belonged to a wide range of sectors like software developers, software service providers, telecom and networking companies, e-commerce companies, core production industries, data analytics and market research companies, consultancies, outsourcing companies, infrastructure management and maintenance services and a lot more. The firms offered pay scales that were as high as 17 LPA. The job location were in and around southern India and a few parts of northern India. Few candidates also got their desire fulfilled as they got opportunities abroad. Many primeval and well established companies continue to maintain a symbiotic relationship with CIT by having a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and are the eminent recruiters that uphold the reputation of CIT all the time. Many opportunities were provided from start-up companies and firms to get hands–on training for building products from scratch.
