Symbiosis Skills and Open University is the first Skill University of the State and imparts more than 70% of its teaching through hands-on practical based pedagogy.

Symbiosis Skills & Open University organised the induction program of the 3rd batch in Kiwale, Pune. Shri. Vinod Tawade was the Chief Guest at the ‘Symbi Initium’ of its new batch.

According to him, “Students of SSOU are the employers of tomorrow and they will give jobs to graduates from other conventional universities. It is the skills that a student acquires during his education which are more important than a mere degree.” He further added that the SSOU infrastructure and labs are very unique. The students passing out from this first Skill University of the state would get the skills along with the degree. He feels that Symbiosis Skills University is indeed satisfying the dream of Skill India envisioned by our Prime Minister.

During interacting with the parents and students at SSOU, Vinod precisely took note of their views and suggestions for inclusion in the educational policy. He precisely noted the suggestions and views of parents and students. He congratulated students as well as their parents for choosing Symbiosis Skills University (Symbiosis Institute of Business Management) as it is unique in its skill focus and programs. He also mentioned about how skill education is being embedded at all levels of education in the state now. “Skill-based education always gives one security and satisfaction, unlike conventional education. A dental mechanic works round the clock and ends up earning much more than a dentist. Similarly, a farrier who is an expert in fixing horseshoe is so much in demand that one has to wait for more than four months to get his appointment. And it’s only because of the skills they possess.”

Padma Bhushan Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Chancellor of SSOU also made his presence at the function. He gave blessings to all the students and advised them to mind their health, time and studies well for succeeding in life.
