Generally, UPES Dehradun does not allow candidates to get direct admissions in the BTech courses. However, there are some exceptions where candidates can apply for UPES Dehradun BTech courses directly with their Class 12 board exam scores.

The entrance exam requirement varies course-wise at GRD Uttarakhand University. The institute accepts scores in CUET-UG, CAT, XAT, CUET-PG, NEET, JEE Main, etc. for admission in specific programmes. Admissions are also merit-based for few courses.

The UPES BTech curriculum integrates different facets of Technology and Healthcare. In this programme, students get to study various theoretical and practical subjects. They are also required to do an internship as part of the curriculum. This provides students with an opportunity to get hands-on experience before the on-campus placements.

Haridwar University accepts entrance exam scores for admission to most of the courses.
