After 10th Diploma	Candidate must have passed Secondary School Examination (Matriculation/ 10th or equivalent examination) from a recognised statutory Board and must have obtained at least 40% marks in 10th class in case of being an open merit candidate and at least 37% marks in case of being a reserved category and have passed Science and Math subjects in 10th class examination. Candidate must have passed Secondary School Examination (Matriculation or equivalent examination) from a recognised statutory Board. Candidates appearing/appeared in 10th class examination up to the last date of submission of online applications can also apply. Candidate must be a resident of either UT of Jammu & Kashmir or UT of Ladakh. There is no upper age limit.

IIT Jammu provides various programmes and specialisations to students. These courses are available in different streams. For obtaining IIT Jammu admission, candidates are selected on the basis of entrance tests. Admission criteria to NIT Srinagar is both, merit and entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes.
