Admission to NIT Uttarakhand is based on the entrance exams, followed by an interview or counselling. For UG course such as BTEch, the university accepts JEE MAIN score and for PG course such as MTech, NIT Uttarakhand accepts the merit scores of GATE exam. Other than these, the university expanded the variety of courses recently including Communication English, Social Sciences, Literature and Cinema, Screenwriting and Creative Writing.
