Established in 2003, Academy of Technology is located in Adisaptagram, Hooghly, West Bengal, is a self-financed undergraduate Engineering college. It is also being located away from the urban bustle providing a great environment for learning. The institute has various department-specific student chapters, including Computer Society of India (CSI), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education), IETE (Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers), and the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI). College of Engineering and Management, Kolaghat (CEMK) is a government-aided Engineering institute,  located in Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant Township of West Bengal Power Development Corporation,  Kolaghat, West Bengal. Established in 1998, CEMK is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, formerly known as WBUT. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. NAAC has accredited the institute with a grade 'A'.

MIET - Modern Institute of Engineering & Technology has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

After 10th Diploma	Candidate must have passed the 10th standard (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board/ Council/ Institute. Candidate appearing in the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination are also eligible to apply. Candidate should not be born after 01.07.2008 and there is no upper age limit.

The highest package offered during IIT Kharagpur placements 2026 (phase 1) was INR 2.44 Crore per Annum. 5 offers with salary package above INR 2 Crore per Annum were made in 2026. 16 offers were between INR 90 LPA and INR 2 Crore per Annum.

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Shibpur is a good college. It is ranked 4 by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2024 under the Architecture category. To get admission to this excellent college, the candidates must have a valid score in any of the accepted entrance exams. For getting a valid score, the candidates must have a sound knowledge of the entrance exams syllabus like the MAT syllabus, CAT syllabus, CAT syllabus, CMAT syllabus, and JEE Main syllabus. Getting to know about the syllabus is the first step in prior preparation for the entrance test. Seats are limited so apply early for admission to various courses at IIEST Shibpur.

NIT - Narula Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute affiliated with MAKAUT. The institute has been ranked #201-300 rank in the Engineering category by NIRF in 2025. BTech is the flagship course of the institute. The admissions to all courses are entrance based. Overall, it is a good institute for students interested in engineering fields.

Try to interact with seniors of your branch. Although they will contact the class and be active in club activities. Start coding early as it will fetch you decent placements. Try to create a group of friends that share common interests in a field and participate in those activities. The college has a lot to offer just grab the opportunities and you are all set.
