ISI Admission Test 2025 exam pattern is such that candidates need to attempt two sections in the examination, where Section A will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions and Section B will have 9 subjective type questions.
The questions will be asked from the subject domains, which are mentioned in the ISI Admission Test Syllabus 2025 in 120 minutes duration. The candidates appearing for the ISI Admission Test 2025 on May 11, 2025 must be aware of the exam pattern for the same. However, candidates can go through the given below previous year's exam pattern for reference. It will comprise of two parts out of which the first part will be mandatory for all the applicants. Whereas, the second part of the test will be based on the subject/ discipline chosen.
NOTE: Candidates must note that admissions to the Bachelor of Statistical Data Sciences (BSDS) will be made through JEE Main and CUET UG exams.

ISI Admission Test 2026 is expected to be conducted in the second week of May 2026, tentatively. The examination will held for admissions to the UG and PG programmes offered by the Indian Statistical Institute. Both the courses will be held in two different shift. ISI Admission Test 2025 exam pattern depicts that there will be two sections in the examination where section A will have multiple choice questions (MCQ) and section B will have descriptive type questions.
Only the section A will have negative marking scheme. For every correct answer +4 marks will be awarded to the candidates and to every wrong answer marked by the candidates, -1 mark will be deducted.
As section B is descriptive in nature no marks will be deducted for the incorrect answer marked by the candidates.
QROR Paper:
Part I (for Statistics/Mathematics Stream): There are five questions from Statistics & Probability where candidates have to answer six questions taking a minimum of two from each section.
Part II (for Engineering Stream): There are four questions from Mathematics and six from Engineering & Technology where candidates have to answer at least two questions from each section.
The duration of the exam is of four hours with each part given two hours each.
