Eligibility criteria as stated below for each of the academic programmes offered at ISI-K, reflect onlythe minimum requirements in order to apply for a particular programme. Only satisfying the eligibility conditions does not guarantee the admission/selection into the chosen programme.

For all the programmes described below, those who have completed or are due to complete their qualifying examinations for which the results are not yet published, may also apply for admission.

If selected, the admission of the candidate will be provisional and pending till the announcement of results. In such cases, however, the application of the candidate id also subjected to cancellation if the final examinations are not completed/failed as on or before the due date. 

M Stat

An applicant must have  a three-year Bachelor’s degree or a BE/B Tech degree with Statistics as a subject, or a B Math degree from ISI, or a Post-Graduate Diploma in Statistical Methods from ISI.

The candidates will have to go through the regular admission process with the written test and interview.

Students with B Stat (Hons) degree from ISI are offered direct admission to this programme.

M Math

An applicant must have a three year Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, or a BE/B Tech Degree, with Mathematics as a subject, or a B Stat degree from ISI.

The candidates with B Math (Pass) degree from ISI, will have to appear for the written admission tests and subsequent interview.

Students with B Math (Hons) degree from ISI are offered direct admission to this programme without any selection test or interview.

MS in Quantitative Economics MS (QE)

An applicant must have a three-year Bachelor’s degree in Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics, or a B Stat degree from ISI, or a BE/ B Tech degree or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE).

Candidates will have to appear for the written tests and subsequent interview. Academic records may also be taken into consideration.

 

MS in Quality Management Science MS (QMS)

An applicant must have a three-year Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject, or a BE/ B Tech degree.

Candidates will have to appear for the written tests and subsequent interview. Academic records may also be taken into consideration.

 

MS in Library and Information Science[MS (LIS)

An applicant must have a three-year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Candidates will have to appear for the written tests and subsequent interview. Academic records may also be taken into consideration.

 

Eligibility for PG Diploma Courses 

PGD in Statistical Methods & Analytics

An applicant must have a domicile certificate of North-Eastern states from a recognized authority, and has one of the following: a three-year Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject; OR a BE/B Tech degree or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE).

 

 

Candidates will have to appear for the written tests and subsequent interview. Academic records may also be taken into consideration.

 

PGD in computer applications

An applicant must have a three-year Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject.

PGD in Business Analytics

10+2+4 : Minimum of 60% marks, and/or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent, in the BS/B Tech/BE or equivalent Level.

10+2+5: Minimum of 60% marks, and/or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent, in the Integrated Masters or equivalent Level.

10+2+3+2: Minimum of 60% marks, and/or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and/or equivalent, in the Masters Level.

 

 

 

Indian Statistical Institute, conducts the Indian Statistical Institute Admission Test abbreviated as ISI Admission Test. Admission to the academic programmes offered at the ISI-K IS strictly based on the merits obtained by the candidates which is evaluated from their performance in ISI admission tests and interviews. The past academic records of the candidate may also be taken into account for the purpose of performance evaluation. The ISI admission test is held at a number of Centres across the country.

ISI Admission test is a gateway to offer admission to all the Post graduate, diploma and doctorate programmes offered at Indian Statistical Institute.

The admissions for the academic year 2018 have been successfully conducted.

Fresh dates for the academic year 2019 will be announced in the due time.

Step 1: Fill Application Form

When seeking for admissions at ISI, the very first step is to apply online for registrations and appear for the entrance examination. Aspirants need to fill the application form for online on the official website. Aspirants are informed that in order to fill the application form for entrance exam for PG course admissions they need to register on admissions portal. 

Step 2:  ISI Admission Test 2019 Admit Card

After successful registration, the institute will issue admit cards to the eligible candidates. These admit cards can be downloaded from the institute’s official website.

Step 3: Appear for ISI Admission Test 2019 Entrance Test

Now, the candidates will then have to appear for the written test, on the basis of which further admissions process will be conducted. For all PG courses, the institute conducts written entrance exam.

Step 4: Check ISI Admission Test Exam Result

The Institute would be declaring the results for PG entrance exams on the official website. ISI-K would also display the result on the notice boards of the respective faculty/departments.

Personal interview is the final step for the admissions of the candidates.

Students who have appeared for the written test and interview should be able to check their results for 2019 admissions at the ISI-Kolkata website.

Step 5: Interview/Counselling Round

On the basis of the candidate’s performance in the ISI Admission Test, the list of eligible candidates will be prepared to attend the final interview round at the India Statistical Institute, North-East Centre-Tezpur. Such candidates will have to download their call letters and attend the interview in person as per the scheduled dates and time. Here by, the candidate’s selection will be subjected to the document verification and submission of the domicile certificates (if applicable).

After verification and qualifying in the interview, candidates must complete their admission formalities to confirm their admissions

Step 6: Class Commencement 

The institute will commence with the classes soon after the ISI Admission Test 2019 results are announced. 

The details for the ISI Admission Test 2019 Exam centres will be made available in the due time. Candidates will have to choose the Test centres while filling the online application form for the ISI Admission Test 2019.
